First Picture: This is an unused microdermabrasion filter from a diamond tip microdermabrasion machine.

Second Picture: This is the same filter after the service on a client who takes care of her skin at home and has regular facials. What you see is the normal build up of dead skin cells, dirt and hair from the skin.

As we age it’s harder for these skin cells to shed on their own needing a little help from products or devices. My favorite to accelerate this turn over are chemical peels and microdermabrasion.

Dermaplaning is the hottest exfoliation technique out there right now. While currently not allowed to be performed by estheticians in my state, I will be working hard to charge that. I’m absolutely in love with the technique and the results.

I was crazy about the results pairing the with my beloved favorites.

It’s been a while so let me re-introduce myself.

I’m Melissa and I am a licensed and award-winning esthetician located in Wallingford Connecticut.

I am the owner of The Nail & Wax Room on Center Street and The Skin & Body Network on Main Street.

My specialties include skin care treatments and full body waxing.

My favorite body part to Wax would be the female Brazilian. It’s my favorite just because I’m damn good at it 🤍.

My ideal client for skin care services would be those looking to relax or those focusing on anti-aging. I’m also a sensitive skin specialist with Hale & Hush and Oncology certified thru Oncology Training International. I also enjoy performing teen facials because I love the education portion of showing teenagers how to better care for their skin.

I’m currently booking clients at on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Fridays I schedule skin care treatments only at The Skin & Body Network] . Both booking sites can be found in the link in my bio.

The other days you can find me training for one of the many companies I work for or at my own advanced training center helping other licensed beauty pros on specialty skincare or waxing techniques.

I am one of the founding members of the Connecticut Coalition of Esthetics which fought for licensing regulations in Connecticut. Before 2020, Esthetician’s, Nail technicians and Lash technicians were not licensed. There was absolutely no requirements and no regulations for consumer safety. This is one of my proudest accomplishments ☑️

In 2018 and 2019 I was a finalist and award winner in the international Skin Games competition. In February 2022 I am honored to have been invited back to be an expert panelist and judge.

Finished out this series this morning! 3 new certifications between yesterday and today.

It’s important to keep my workplace and clients safe. Domestic abuse, human trafficking and infection control are all real things that occur every minute of every day.

It’s important to me to be knowledgeable and know ways I can identify and hopefully help resolve these situations. As I look back at my career I can specifically remember some of these “red flags” and wish I had this knowledge earlier.

This was such a great class. Very eye opening. We all have that friend, client, student or family member that is in a less than ideal relationship.

Say something. Let them know you are there for them.
