Why is the winter/fall time the best time to get a peel?

Let’s talk the difference between waxing & shaving 🪒

Waxing swiftly pulls the hair out from the root, while shaving is more of a trimming of the hair. Shaving is only removing the hair from the surface of the skin, and leaves the hair root intact.

Waxing reduces hair growth when performed within every 4-5 weeks. Waxing actually weakens the hair follicles making hair grow back thinner, and finer.

What are Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA)?

- AHAs are water-soluble acids derived from fruits and plants. They're considered a chemical exfoliant, which means that they use chemicals — aka acids or enzymes — to buff away dead skin cells.

The hydra-bright pro 5 liquid exfoliator is a perfect example of an AHA. This is a gentle pro-strength exfoliating treatment. This product smooths, tones, and brightens skin with a powerhouse mix of five alpha
hydroxy acids and poly hydroxy acid at a 10% concentration.

What is hyperpigmentation?
- The medical term to describe dark patches of the skin. These patches are a result of excess melanin production.

What causes hyperpigmentation?
- Anywhere from acne scars and hormonal fluctuations to sun damage.

What are the different types of hyperpigmentation?

- SUN SPOTS & AGE SPOTS:
Are harmless, flat brown spots that develop of areas of skins that are frequently exposed to the sun.

- FRECKLES:
Freckles are small pigmented spots on the skin, freckles are genetic. Freckles appear due to the influence of UV rays on skin cells.

- MELASMA
Melasma is a skin condition characterized by brown or blue-gray patches or freckle like patches. This is caused by a overproduction of melanin.

- POST-INFLAMMATORY HYPERPIGMENTATION (PIH):
PIH results from the overproduction of melanin or abnormal melanin deposition in the epidermis or dermis following inflammation. In addition popping or picking a pimple can increase the chance of developing PIH.
