this is what I keep telling my coaching clients and what I have to keep reminding myself … rest isn’t the reward for the work. it IS the work.

your nervous system, your hormones, your sleep, your digestion, your relationships … none of it gets to heal on the same energy that wore it down.

I’m in Mexico this week with my mom and my son and I’m taking my own medicine for once. no laptop on the porch. no answering the email at 9pm. (In fact, my marketing team is scheduling this post for me!)

I mean … the front foils not lifting. someone telling me they’re crash dieting before an event. people saying “you’ll get over it” to someone who’s grieving (please stop). checking the scale every 5 minutes like it’s going to give a different answer. and the worst one … when someone literally cannot see their own beauty sitting right in front of them.

the through line on all of these ? being harder on yourself than you’d ever be on someone you love. I see it at the chair, I see it on coaching calls, I see it at social events
