Blue chunky highlights for this girl!! Soooo cute!!

Today I was faced with saying another goodbye but at least it was scheduled. I have no picture because Bob wouldn’t let it probably but today at 86 years old He sat in my chair and said “This will be my last haircut.”
I’ve been waiting for that sentence for a while now.
I first met Bob because I did his wives hair Annette. She was one of my elderly clients and I just loved her. She had tremors in her voice box so she was extremely hard to understand but I always took the time to have a full conversation with her during her hair appointments. As time went on her health declined but Bob always brought her. It got to the point she was wheelchair bound and he picked her up himself and moved her from shampoo bowl to cutting chair. This man took care of Annette like the queen she was. She passed away not too long but I cherished the time I spent with her. I thought that, that would be the last time I ever saw Bob.

Bob called me one day and asked if I remembered him and I laughed and said yes, I remember you! He booked a hair appointment with me.

He came in and we talked about his Annette and I loved to hear stories. He said “You know, Annette really liked you” I said, I know and I really loved her.
I’ve done Bob’s hair ever since. A total of 17 years to be exact. Place after place he would always call and go wherever I was.
Bob is moving with his son in Ohio which I’ m grateful for that but I will indeed miss the hell out of him. These memories will
never fade. It was a honor to do her and his hair for as long as I got too.

As a hairdresser it’s not just a paycheck or a hair appointment. It the connections, the laughs, the memories that keep us going. Every hairdresser cares more than you think. It’s part of our gift. I’ll miss you Bob more than you know but I’ll definitely check in on you. ♥️ until next time.

Just another friendly reminder, I have very limited space open for back to school hair. I think everyone knows I don’t do little ones (under 5-6years old, no boys) but bring all the girls over that age and whatever they want, I can do. I just know what I can do well lol
