Tomorrow, Monday the 20th, Pat and Craig are going to be holding down the fort all on their own! They’ve decided to keep the shop open while the crew hits the lake 🛥️ 🛟

💎GEMS FOR THE NEXT GEN💎

Our very own Maxwell Harris aka was up at the CGTC barber academy yesterday giving back to the future generation of barbers.

In this industry it seems newer barbers get better quicker than the older generation, largely due to social media but also because of a change of mindset. This idustry used to be dog-eat-dog, and maybe it still is in some places, but in middle ga? There’s a change. We are all willing to help each other grow to produce the best quality service possible.

We have been blessed to watch Maxwell grow in his career over the years and to watch the student become the teacher 🍎

⭐️Where are you from?
•Albany, Oregon 🌲

⭐️How long have you been at Olde World Barber Shoppe?
•7 years. Time flies!

⭐️What made you want to become a barber?
•I grew up in a really alternative scene and the styles I wanted weren’t styles you could get in salons at the time, so I started doing my own hair in 7th grade and ended up running a lil salon out of my grandmas house in middle school.
Then in high school I started doing clipper cuts at an auto garage.
I begged my parents to let me drop out of HS so I could go to beauty school sooner… of course, they didn’t let me🤣

⭐️What’s your favorite type of haircut to do?
•Probably a 2 on the sides and back & finger length on top 😂

⭐️What’s one haircut or service you feel like you really specialize in?
•That’s hard, I’d say I specialize in giving every client their desired look customized to their lifestyle and morning habits. But my specialty in the shop is definitely my Executive service, which is what you should book if you ever need a lil pampering 💆✨

⭐️What’s something clients might be surprised to learn about you?
•I’m currently training for a half marathon!

⭐️If you weren’t a barber, what do you think you’d be doing?
•Id definitely be working at a national Park, either seasonally and traveling or as a park ranger.

⭐️If you’re controlling the music, what are you putting on?
•MGMT, Mac Miller, Sublime or System of a Down

⭐️Favorite local spot in town?
•Ciao Bella, Ghost Runner, Macon Bagels or Grandmas Empanadas

⭐️What’s your go to Coffee?
•Iced Americano with white choc & almond milk😋 but any caffeine will do!

⭐️When you’re not behind the chair, what do you enjoy doing?
•Kayaking or tubing the river, riding bikes, hiking, traveling, or enjoying my peaceful front porch 🌿

⭐️Random fun fact about you:
•I’ve been to 30 states and 13 countries

⭐️Where are you from?
•McRae, GA

⭐️How long have you been at Olde World Barber Shoppe?
• 9 Months

⭐️What made you want to become a barber?
•I’ve always been interested in different hairstyles and hair in general.

⭐️What’s your favorite type of haircut to do?
•I like doing all types of haircuts. I mostly enjoy working with shears and doing mullet style haircuts.

⭐️What’s one haircut or service you feel like you really specialize in?
•Modern mullet or flow back styles.

⭐️What’s something clients might be surprised to learn about you?
•I’ve played drums for the past 14 years. I started a band with some friends in high school and we have been playing together since 2018.

⭐️If you weren’t a barber, what do you think you’d be doing?
•Before I started cutting hair, I was painting and remodeling houses with my dad. I also went to school for electrical construction; I would most likely be doing something in the construction world.

⭐️If you’re controlling the music, what are you putting on?
•I like a lot of different music, my go to is usually in the alternative rock, pop punk, and melodic rap.

⭐️Favorite local spot in town?
•Olde World Barber Shoppe

⭐️What’s your go to beverage?
•Coconut berry Redbull or Mango lemonade Celsius

⭐️When you’re not behind the chair, what do you enjoy doing?
•I like to go outside and find something to do with friends such as: walking nature trails, playing tennis, fishing, playing video games, watching UFC, play poker, and drumming is what I like to do when not at the shop.

⭐️Random fun fact about you:
•My Aunt and I were both voted “wittiest” in high school.
