Heading to the gym this morning knowing I planned to increase my weights for my deadlifts.
While I can lift substantially more using the Olympic bar, dumbbells with their concentrated weight have been a challenge.
I stepped up to two 45lb dumbbells which was very manageable soooo….
I challeged myself…two 50lb dumbbells n I DID IT!
Why Is this important?
♥️Increases bone mass to avoid osteoporosis
♥️Increases muscles mass in low back, glutes, and hamstrings to live an active lifestyle
♥️Increases muscle mass to sit in low beach chairs; avoid high toiletseats and walkers as we age
♥️Aging and loss of mobility happens slowly at first until it’s too late

💪 When my mom was in assisted living I saw soooo many walkers and high toilet seats…
💪Does this make it easier for the patient and caregiver? Absolutely! And it also increases dependency because of decreased muscle strength.
