85 days in Italy 🇮🇹
Making this post was actually really emotional for me, going back through all the pictures and reminiscing. Seriously feels like just last week we were on our last day of work so excited to be leaving for this trip.
Ugh the feeling of being so excited for something you’ve waited years to do and never thought could actually happen. And the whole time in Italy I would anticipate this exact moment; being back home and having to get back to reality. It’s the inevitable, but doesn’t make it any easier.
I am so grateful for everything I was able to experience these last few months. A once in a lifetime trip, and just like that it’s over. It almost feels like it was all just a dream 🥹

Day 77 78 79 🍋🍊
📍 Taormina
I could’ve spent a whole week in this adorable boutique town 🥹 so much to see, so much to do, so many places to eat at! I definitely got my workout in with all the hills and stairs, my legs are sore from being here for two days lol
Was so cool to go to the little cafe that was featured in White Lotus season 2! I didn’t even realize it until halfway through drinking my coffee lol
Definitely a must see if visiting Sicily, I think Taormina is one of my favorites beating Polignano 🙊

Day 75 & 76 🥷
📍 Palermo
Ohhhh today was one strange ass day 🥲 thought I woke up on the wrong side of the bed (honestly maybe I did bc I hate the airb&b we’re at) but today was interesting…
The first thing we did today was go to the Crypt where they practice natural mummification dating all the way back to the late 1700s…yes…we legit saw mummified bodies of people from the 1700 & 1800s… HUNDREDS of them. Literally just hanging on the wall, laying out in coffins…insane. The most preserved body was from 1920 and it was a little girl only 2 years old, she looked like a doll laying in her coffin. Truly such an eire experience, we couldn’t take pictures for obviously reasons but it was definitely not for everyone to see.
So yeah, our day already started very dark lol and to end it was even better 😅
Sitting outside having dinner at this nice restaurant and the waiter had warned me about putting my purse around my chair because there’s pick pockets around. Mind you, I was sitting pretty close to the other table that was behind me so in my head I was like oh I’ll be fine…
Halfway through dinner I felt some come behind my chair (thinking it’s a waiter) and felt the strap of my purse come off the chair against my back but didn’t hear the purse fall to the floor. Instantly I went to look on the ground and then feel for my purse and NOTHING. I look over to the sidewalk and low and behold this THEIF had it in her hands and I started SCREAMING and literally took off chasing her and she took the first corner and tried to hide in the bushes and next thing I know Joe and like half of the restaurant staff are yelling at her and ripped the purse from her 😭😭
I literally was so shaken up after that and completely lost my appetite but I’m so grateful god was with me in that moment. And to the restaurant staff who literally dropped everything just to help me lol it was like something out of a movie.
Palermo, thought you would’ve been in my top 5 but sadly I think your in my least 5 😅😅😅

Day 72 73 74 🙈 🌊
📍 Reggio Calabria & Scilla
I love being by the sea 🥹
Today was an interesting day to say the least lol. Took the train to the airport to rent a car, get off the train and there’s literally NOTHING. A local tells us we have to walk through this dark and dirty tunnel and through the bushes to then end up on a freaking highway where Chris tried to flag down cars to catch a ride 😭🥲
By the grace of god the kindest man literally stops in the middle of the highway and tells us he’ll give us a ride to the car rental 😂 cannot make this s**t up lol
After hours arguing with the car rental because we booked a sporty car and they tried to give us a Kia with the bumper hanging off (lol) we drove down to Scilla to have a very yummy dinner. Ironically enough is was a restaurant that the lady at the car rental had recommended…again you cannot make this s**t up 😂😂
Tomorrow the real adventure begins in Sicily 😍

Day 71 🧜♀️
📍 Taranto
Visited the oldest church in apulia region and saw the last remaining pieces of the temple of Poseidon dating back to the 6th century 😳

Day 68 69 70 🫣
📍 Alberobello
I’ve been slacking on the posting 🙈
Sunday we had a lazy day, walked around bari, got lunch then headed home to relax
Monday (yesterday) we went to visit Alberobello 🛖
Very small town with lots of charm! It was a chilly and super windy day making it tough to explore the town but we made the best of it!
We are now in Taranto for a few days then heading to Calabria 🥰

Day 67 🦞
📍 Polignano A Mare
I think this might be one of the best days of the trip so far 🥹
Polignano is so far my favorite place, the cutest beach town with so many little boutiques, restaurants, cafes, something to see at every corner.
Also probably som of the best meals I’ve had today since being in Italy 😋 We first had lunch at the cutest intimate restaurant solely ran by husband and wife whom were both extremely lovely. Not only was the food incredible but we had the best seat in the restaurant and there was an Italian movie filing literally right infront of us. So basically we got a free show at lunch 😂
We walked throughout the town, laid out by the rocks at the cove and then had dinner which was also so so so good 😭best lobster I’ve had, and the “catch of the day” tartare was literally so fresh that Joe picked out the fish he wanted in the case. Insane lol
Today was really special, southern Italy is truly something else 🥹🩷

Day 66 🛥️
📍 Trani & Barletta
Explored 2 towns in one day 😍
Started the day in Barletta and toured the castello and I found my new favorite artist, Giuseppe Gabbiani 🖼️ every painting that I was drawn to was his work, so impressive!
Then we headed to Trani for lunch and had such an incredible meal. We couldn’t decide what to order so we put all our trust in our waiter and he did not disappoint😋
I really enjoyed Trani, very cute port city. Felt very intimate and had beautiful architecture, so glad we went!

Day 62 🪽
The Easter festivities continue 🥹
The most beautiful day spent with family & the town of Fornelli! Hospitality is like no other here.
My belly was always full, my glass was never empty and so many laughs were had 😂😂
I wish I could come visit every year 🥹
