“Why do my dark spots stay forever?”
Let’s break it down…
Those brown or purplish spots left behind after a breakout?
They’re called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (aka PIH) — and they’re not scars.
PIH is your skin’s response to inflammation. When a pimple heals, your melanin cells can go into overdrive, leaving behind dark spots that can linger for months — especially if you’re not wearing sunscreen.
