A little personal moment from my day. 💛

I went swimming today, and there was an older woman swimming next to me who was really good! I remember thinking, “I hope I can swim like her when I’m her age!” 🏊‍♀️

Later, after I showered and got dressed, she came up to me and told me that I swam really well. 🥹 I smiled and thanked her, but inside I was thinking… wow, SHE looked so strong too!

Such a simple comment, but it genuinely made me happy. It reminded me how one small, kind comment can completely brighten someone’s day. 💛

After my LIVE conversation with Naima from DeafMentalHealthHub, I wanted to share a little more about Trace Essence (TE) and how it connects to what we discussed: slowing down, connecting with others, sharing resources, and finding small practices that help us move through the day.

Trace Essence is my Deaf-owned small business where I handcraft candles, soaps, and other self-care products with the hope of creating small moments that encourage us to pause and care for ourselves. 🕯️🧼✨

Community care doesn’t always have to be something big. It can be lighting a candle and giving yourself permission to slow down. Taking a warm shower with a soap you enjoy. Checking in on someone. Sharing a helpful resource. Or giving something thoughtful to someone who could use a little comfort. 💛
