Not every bride wants full glam—and she shouldn’t have to.
For some, the goal is to look in the mirror and see themselves: bright, fresh, radiant and ready for one of the most meaningful days of their life.
We loved being part of Monica’s vow renewal. Having never had her makeup professionally done, she was understandably nervous and searched carefully for an inspiration photo that reflected what she thought she wanted.
But once we began, it became clear that even a traditional eyeshadow look felt like too much for her. So we adjusted. Instead, I used a softly smoked liner at the outer corners and just a touch of shimmer across the lids and inner corners to brighten her eyes without making them feel heavily made up.
Because Monica doesn’t ordinarily wear foundation, her complexion needed to remain fresh and skin-like. We finished with the blush she loves and a pinky-nude lip that brought everything together.
She was also deciding between an updo and a half-up style, so Phrenchie helped guide her toward a romantic look that felt natural to her and worked beautifully with her veil.
The best bridal beauty isn’t about wearing more. It’s about listening, adjusting and creating the look that makes someone exhale when they see themselves and say, “Yes—that still feels like me.” 🤍

Not goodbye, LA. Just see you soon. 🤍
Six years ago, in the middle of a pandemic, I moved into this apartment as a very different version of myself. I was scared, I was alone, and both of those things felt terrifying—but I had my little Sasha beside me. She became the best partner I could have asked for, and this property became as much her home as it was mine.
Being there without her never felt quite the same.
Moving has a way of turning every drawer and forgotten box into a time capsule. Cards, letters, old relationships, past versions of yourself—all the things you didn’t realize you were still carrying. Apparently, I was carrying more than I thought, because my entire life did not fit into those two tiny U-Boxes. 😂
This move brought up more emotions than I expected. I moved so often as a child, and somewhere along the way, moving became tied to endings, loss, divorce, and the uncertainty of the pandemic. After everything this past year has held, choosing to return home to DC wasn’t an easy or uncomplicated decision. Part of me is still torn between two cities I love.
But I know I’m ready.
I’m deeply grateful for the people who brought joy, calm, and peace to my final days here—and for the city that held so many versions of me over the years.
I don’t know exactly what this next chapter will look like, and I think I’m finally okay with that.
See you soon, LA. ✨

Summer skin, but make it last a little longer. ✨
One of my favorite things about Sofanya | Cellular Science x Belief-Based Ritual Sacred Body Oil is the way it keeps skin looking luminous, hydrated, and healthy without feeling heavy. It’s been one of my favorite products to reach for all summer, especially after the shower or anytime I want that soft, glowy finish on the skin—and I already know I’ll be using it into fall + winter when maintaining hydration becomes even more important.
For this shoot, I wanted the makeup to feel just as effortless: fresh skin, softly defined features, and nothing that looked overly “done.” But natural makeup still has to perform, especially under these conditions!
And this look really did.
Heat. Sun. Pool. Shower. Steam. Sweat. And her makeup continued to look fresh throughout the shoot—which is always the goal: makeup that looks like skin, but can still hold up to real life.
Loved creating this look on ari rousseau and watching that glow come to life both in and out of the water. 🤍
I’m always a huge fan for skincare that smells amazing (naturally), feels luxurious, and improves my overall skin health ✨ Sofanya | Cellular Science x Belief-Based Ritual Sacred Body Oil has been one of my little everyday treats for me, and I always love sharing products I enjoy using with you guys.

I first discovered Goldie Locks® | Luxury Hair Care at the IPSY by the Shore event in Newport Beach a few weeks ago, and I genuinely fell in love with the products.
As someone who uses a lot of dry shampoo, I was super excited to try their new Signature Dry Shampoo — and it has quickly become one of my favs! It smells amazing, doesn’t leave my hair feeling heavy or gritty, and honestly has worked better for me than any dry shampoo I’ve used in a long time.
This is not a paid post. The products were gifted to me, but I’m sharing because I actually use and love them. ✨
So I was really excited to be invited back to celebrate the launch of the Signature Dry Shampoo with the Goldie Locks team. The entire afternoon was so thoughtfully done — custom compacts, bouquet making, a photo booth, personalized keychains, plenty of food and drinks, and yes, I even left with a B12 shot. 😂
Such a fun event, beautiful energy, and so many cute little touches throughout the afternoon.
As a hair and makeup artist and business owner, I’m always paying attention to products I can recommend to my team and clients, and Goldie Locks has definitely made that list.
Thank you to the Goldie Locks team for having me. 🤍

51.
It’s taken me almost half my life to get to a place where spending my birthday by myself could feel not only ok, but exactly right.
Birthdays weren’t always easy for me. Growing up, we moved constantly and I was always the new kid. I never really had those big, memorable childhood birthday parties, and somewhere along the way birthdays became something I felt needed to be really special. Almost as if the day had to prove something.
But getting older has changed that.
50 was a hard year. Two broken wrists and surgery. Losing my dad. Losing Sasha. And now, packing up my life in LA and preparing to move across the country again.
So today, I didn’t need or want a big party.
I put on something I loved, drove down the coast with music blasting, took myself somewhere beautiful for lunch, and spent some time thinking about the woman I’ve become.
And later, I got to walk into a beautiful event because of a career and a life I’ve built for myself.
And maybe that’s why today felt perfect.
I’m incredibly grateful for the friends who have celebrated me, called me, texted me, loved me and made me feel special. But today I realized I don’t need other people to make the day meaningful anymore.
At 51, I’m comfortable in my own skin. Comfortable in my own company. And after a year that took a lot from me, this feels less like starting over and more like choosing what I want this next chapter to look like.
Here’s to 51. 🤍✨🦋

There’s just something about getting makeup in the mail every month that still makes me ridiculously happy. 🤗
And after a month of spraying, swatching, testing and trying everything from my very generous birthday-month IPSY Ultimate haul, these are the 7 I ended up loving the most.
The biggest surprise? ILIA Base Face Milk. I truly didn’t expect it to be for me, and it ended up being one of my fav surprises of the whole haul.
But the clear winners were the Patrick Ta Beauty blushes. I was already excited about one…and then, thanks to a very happy little Ipsy mix-up, I somehow ended up with BOTH shades. They’re both so gorgeous I couldn’t pick a favorite, so obviously I had to show you both — one on each cheek. ☺️ Which one is your fav?
This is exactly why I love my IPSY subscription. Some months I discover something I never would have picked for myself, some months I get something that was already on my wish list, and apparently some months I accidentally hit the blush jackpot.
If monthly makeup mail sounds like your kind of happiness too, my IPSY link is in my bio. 💄📦
A wedding planner friend texted me the other day and asked, “How do I get my cream blush to actually LAST?”
Challenge accepted. 😂
I have oily skin, I’m currently sweating approximately 97% of the time thanks to hormones, and on the day I tested this I spent about three hours outside in the heat.
So if a cream blush was going to disappear…this was the day.
Here’s the thing: sometimes you look at finished makeup and think, that doesn’t look like it should take that many steps.
But those little steps you don’t necessarily see are often the ones doing the heavy lifting.
Cream blush alone on oily skin + heat + humidity? Probably not making it through the day.
But layering strategically, setting in the right places, adding powder blush, and finishing everything properly can give you that same fresh cream-blush look with MUCH better longevity.
And the receipts are in the timestamps. 👀
I wore this for about 10 hours, spent hours outside, sweated plenty…and my blush was still there at the end of the night.
I used Makeup Artist Patrick Ta 🫶🏽 She’s the Moment blush from my August IPSY Ultimate, which was gifted to me by Ipsy, along with ONE/SIZE products to help melt everything together and lock it in.
A few extra steps. A very different result.
Because pretty makeup is great.
Pretty makeup that’s still there 10 hours later?

A little afternoon delight with IPSY by the shore. ☀️🌊
One of my favorite parts of being in the IPSY Creator Community has been getting to experience events like this — and yesterday’s Newport Beach pop-up was such a cute one.
Beauty, hair, wellness, a strawberry matcha (yummmmm), and more goodies than I know what to do with. 😆 I especially loved discovering some new brands alongside a few longtime favorites — and I may be most excited about my very personalized visit Apothékary™️
More on that one soon…
Thank you for such a lovely afternoon and for sending me home with a VERY full bag. 🤍
I’ll be trying everything and sharing my favorites + reviews in Stories throughout the month.
And if you’ve been curious about IPSY, you can join through the link in my bio. It’s definitely one of my favorite little deliveries every month. 💌
