A girls' school was bombed. 175 people died, mostly children. A political leader went on TV and said they're better off dead than living under Iran's government. Who gave him the authority to decide that?
CPAC chairman Matt Schlapp said on Piers Morgan Uncensored that Iranian schoolgirls killed in the Minab school airstrike would have lived "in a burqa" under "a barbaric society." When journalist Peter Beinart said the roughly 175 victims would be alive without the strikes, Schlapp responded: "They'd be alive in a burqa." Cenk Uygur asked: "So just kill them?" Schlapp: "That's not what I'm saying."
He doubled down: "It's hypocritical to say these attacks harmed women and children when those girls would live behind a burqa with no ability to make career choices." Critics pointed out women in Iran do not wear burqas — that is Afghanistan. Iran requires hijabs. Women make up the majority of university graduates in the country.
Journalist Yashar Ali responded: "Confusing Iran with Taliban-ruled Afghanistan shows a basic ignorance about the country Matt claims to be lecturing the world about."

Rising costs. Falling wages. Political instability. Visa crackdowns. For many, the American Dream now exists somewhere else.
For the first time in nearly a century, reports suggest the United States may be experiencing a shift in net migration, with more people leaving than arriving. The last time this happened at scale was during the Great Depression, when over a million people left in search of better conditions abroad.
Several factors are driving the trend. Rising housing costs, expensive healthcare, political polarization, and stricter immigration enforcement have contributed to both reduced inflows and increased outflows. During COVID-19, net migration dropped to historic lows and has not fully recovered. Countries like Portugal, Mexico, Costa Rica, and parts of Southeast Asia have become popular destinations for Americans seeking a lower cost of living.
Demographers caution that long-term conclusions depend on updated Census data, but the direction of the trend has already sparked a national conversation.
