I teach beauty professionals how to perform results-driven, transformative facials without compromising their own physical health—while helping them elevate their skills, confidence, and business to the next level.
Lifting moves are powerful and effective.
But if your technique creates creases, you are not lifting, you are folding the skin.
This usually happens when pressure is excessive or the movement does not follow proper direction.
Over time, this can deepen lines instead of improving them.
Folding the skin repeatedly puts mechanical stress on the tissue.
Instead of supporting structure, you are creating micro-compression in the same areas again and again.
This can weaken tissue resilience, reduce elasticity, and encourage lines to become more permanent.
Creases are a sign that the skin is not being guided, it is being forced.
Always think lift and support, never compression ✨
This is a small part of my training with my students.
There is much more in the full video, and it’s also a way to understand my method more deeply.

This technique focuses on the clavicle area, where the main lymphatic pathways connect back into circulation.
When this area is properly released, fluid from the face can move efficiently toward the heart.
If this step is skipped, results are limited because the pathways are not fully open.
✨ Benefits
• Reduces puffiness
• Improves circulation
• Brightens skin tone
• Defines facial contours
We are not just working on the skin we are working with the body’s physiology.
Correct flow ensures both safety and visible results.
The rhythmic strokes of effleurage encourage microcirculation without collapsing or irritating the capillaries. Instead of forcing blood through the vessels, they create a soft, wave-like movement in the tissue that allows circulation to improve naturally.
With consistent application, this helps maintain stronger, more resilient capillaries and contributes to a more even, healthy-looking skin tone.
Proper facial massage does not stretch the skin and here is why. When a facial is performed correctly, movements follow the natural tension pathways of the skin, known as Langer’s lines, which guide how the tissue can be safely moved without strain. True stretching of the skin does not come from short, controlled movements, but from consistent expansion over time, such as during pregnancy or prolonged weight gain, where the skin gradually adapts to increased volume. Even in those situations, collagen, the main structural protein of the skin, is the last to give way. In contrast, professional facial massage uses precise and gentle techniques along these natural lines, respecting the structure of the skin and not creating any lasting elongation or damage.
These lines were described by Karl Langer, a 19th century Austrian anatomist and professor who studied how skin behaves under tension. He identified the natural orientation of collagen fibers in the dermis and mapped what we now call Langer’s lines. His work remains essential in both medicine and aesthetics, helping practitioners understand how to work with the skin safely and effectively.
Often, when we focus on the client’s face, we forget about something just as important: our own body.
In this video, I’m using my forever model, my husband, to demonstrate how important it is to protect our hands, wrists, fingers and shoulders while we work.
Also, many of you ask how to work on a face with a beard. As you can see here, a beard is not a limitation.
A facial should never damage the practitioner’s body. When the technique is done correctly, you can create beautiful results for your client while staying comfortable and protected yourself.
In this video, you see results from Part 4 of my manual facelift only. Of course, the full facial gives even more significant results.

It is essential to have deep knowledge of anatomy and the biology of soft tissue.
But just as important is having sensitive, intelligent hands.
Your fingers develop their own awareness over time.
Every face is different. To truly create results, we must stay fully connected and constantly adjust to the unique structure of each client.
This level of attention and presence makes our work deeply engaging. It sharpens our focus and awareness, and that is what translates into beautiful, visible results after every facial.
These results were achieved using only Part 4 of the Helena Pahava Method manual facelift. I did this as an experiment to see what this section alone can do.
Of course, when the full facial is performed starting with the first three parts the results are even more visible and comprehensive. But I wanted to understand how each part works on its own, and I was very happy to see that even the final lifting phase can create such a noticeable change.
When all parts are combined, they create a significant, long-lasting restorative effect on the face.
This is my husband, 59.5 years old. He hadn’t had a facial for about four months due to dental work, and as you know, I never work on the face during that time. This was the first time I worked on him again just 20 minutes, only Part 4 and this is the result.
If you want to create visible results for your clients, while protecting your hands and working safely, you can learn the Helena Pahava Method and offer it with confidence.
Cleansing is the essential first step in every facial.
It sets the tone for everything that follows. Starting with proper cleansing lays the foundation for the entire treatment. In this video, you’ll see how to cleanse the face correctly without dragging the skin or causing any unnecessary downward stretching.
Because I always begin my facials with lymphatic drainage, I’m very mindful not to trigger lymph flow too early during cleansing. Whether the drainage that follows is light or more extensive, it always comes after cleansing. That’s why at this stage, I avoid disturbing the lymphatic nodules under the skin.
I’m often asked what cleanser I use.
To be honest, I don’t recommend specific product lines. I don’t work closely enough with any brand to fully stand behind their formulas and when you recommend something, you take on the responsibility for the outcome.
What I can recommend is what to look for in a cleanser.
No matter the brand, a truly effective cleanser should contain ceramides, cholesterol, and fatty acids in equal parts. This combination closely mimics the skin’s own lipid barrier. If the formula is free of harsh preservatives and toxic ingredients, it can work beautifully for nearly every skin type cleansing thoroughly without stripping or compromising the skin’s natural barrier.
This kind of thoughtful formulation not only respects the skin, but supports its long-term health making cleansing not just a step, but a treatment in itself.
