Embracing Sophie’s natural color with some ribbons of blonde throughout for a lower maintenance grow out 🫶🏻

This client came in after a mishap with her cut and color at a different salon. What was supposed to be a trim, turned into a lot of lost length and unwanted layers, which resulted in most of her brightest blonde pieces being cut off. (This is why you’ll notice I almost ALWAYS do the bulk of my haircuts prior to lightening or color services)

We went in with the heaviest foil placement possible at her roots, pulling the foils as we went (as they were ready and lightened enough) and tipping out her ends with fresh lightener. From there we did a micro root smudge and color melted her ends to tone them but also keep them as bright as possible.

For her haircut, we took some length off the back to give a more purposeful shape to the perimeter and did our best to soften her layers to help them blend as we let them grow out.

Having a client sit in your chair with tears in her eyes because of how unhappy she feels with her current hair, to leaving with tears in her eyes because of how much better she feels is one of the greatest feelings for me as a stylist. It’s always my goal for my clients to feel their absolute best when they leave my chair, because we all know that even a little more confidence can go such a long way 🤍
