What is a Sauna Whisk? 🌿

A sauna whisk, traditionally called a vihta or vasta, is a bundle of fresh birch branches used throughout Nordic sauna culture.

After soaking the whisk in warm water, it’s gently brushed or tapped against the skin during a sauna session. The practice helps stimulate circulation, release muscle tension, and fill the room with the natural scent of birch.

For many families, it’s also part of the ritual itself — slowing down, connecting across generations, and embracing the traditions that make sauna culture so much more than heat alone.

Entrepreneurship is funny.

Today I spent way too long trying to photograph a can of wood protection. 😂

Not the sauna.

Not the black diamond shingles.

Not the gorgeous thermo spruce.

The wood protection.
