I need to make an appointment for dipped nails.
I’m sorry but we don’t offer them.
Why not?

We get asked this occasionally.

The other comment is … I would never do acrylic nails they’re so damaging I will only do dipped nails now.

Let’s dispel some of the lies out there 😀.

Dipped nails are acrylic nails. It’s a different process that uses resin(nail glue and activator) and acrylic powder to create an artificial nail coating. Dipping powder is acrylic powder.

If you choose to dip, be sure to look for these possible red flags of contamination or damage:

Is the tech using fresh powder with you? If not, the powder you are dipping your nails in could contain fungus, germs, the virus causing warts or f***l matter.

Are your nails getting thinner and more sensitive with every removal? It’s because removing acrylic can be more damaging to the nail if the tech is aggressive. The product is harder to remove and time is money so sometimes more aggressive measures are taken unnecessarily. some nail salons want to work more like a deli. Get them in and get them out.

And finally, are you being told dipping is better for your nails than acrylic. The person putting on your nails and the person taking off your nails is responsible for the health of your nails. If the salon is using a high-quality professional product whether it’s acrylic or gel it will not damage your nails. But definitely if they’re being aggressively prepared or unprofessionally ripped off, herein lies the problem.

Stay safe and healthy! That’s why we say you don’t have to come to us but please be educated no matter where you go!

ATTENTION: A new business using the name Finishing Touch 2 recently opened a block away from The Finishing Touch Day Spa LLC ™ This is causing a lot of confusion. We are not affiliated with that business.
Please do not contact us for any information for that business!

Hi everyone- As you may know as everyone gets vaccinated the restrictions are starting to loosen up. Please call the spa to schedule your appointment. We have made adjustments to our schedule to accommodate a minimum of a 1/2 hour between clients to sanitize the spa. When you arrive please call 319-232-0045 to be let in the front door. If you are vaccinated you will no longer need to wear a mask. If you still feel more comfortable wearing a mask that is ok and you may ask staff to wear one as well. If you are not vaccinated you will still be required to wear a mask. Your temperature will need to be taken if your temperature is above 100.4 you will need to reschedule your appointment. You will need to thoroughly wash your hands and use provided hand sanitizer.

The policies have been put in place to continue to try and offer the safest atmosphere for all of our clients and staff as we always have and will continue to do. We have always exceeded the standards put in place by the Iowa State Board and will always continue to do so.

Hi everyone- as you may know the Governor opened up salons for business as of May 15, 2020!
We will be going back to business as unusual!
Please call the salon to schedule your appointments even if you have a standing appointment! Adjustments for a minimum of 1/2 hour between clients will be needed to sanitize the salon! So please be patient with me :)

We will open up to a full schedule effective Tuesday May 19, 2020. There will be some changes that have to be made to accommodate the new rules put in place by the state of Iowa.
1. When you arrive you must call to be let in the front door
2. you MUST bring your own mask! If no mask we will not supply one for you and you will have to reschedule your appointment!
3. Your temperature will be taken if your temperature is above 100.4 you will not be admitted and will need to reschedule your appointment!
4. you will need to answer all 5 corona virus questions
5. You will need to thoroughly wash your hands before heading in for any service.
6. you will need to use provided hand sanitizer before the start of your service.

Once again THANK YOU IN ADVANCE WITH YOUR PATIENCE AS WE GO BACK TO BUSINESS AS UNUSUAL!
