***THIS IS NOT MY INSTALLATION, I MERELY REMOVED THEM OVER A TWO AND A HALF HOUR PERIOD***

This client came in today after having her lash "extensions" done. I use that term extremely loosely due to the outcome and the fact that the "salon" does not offer ANY removal service. She had these installed locally yesterday. Before she left the place that put them on, her eyes were already reacting, itching and swelling. Today she saw a doctor due to the extreme reaction. The pictures do not accurately depict the swelling. It was BAD.

The appication of these lashes was done, start to finish, in 20 minutes. Every (massive) cluster was glued to multiple natural lashes, and at least 1/3 were glued to her skin, making removing them difficult and not without pain to the client. The third image shows the smallest "fan" I could find that the other salon applied in comparison to the size of fans that we apply to ONE natural lash.

I got her in as soon as I saw her eyes and applied remover, so I did not get a clear photo of her lashes before I started. The pink cream you see is the remover. In following photos you can see large, dark clumps of lash adhesive as well as bubblegum pink goo that I can only assume is glue used for applying temporary, one day wear, strip lashes. It was stretchy and sticky, turned pink by our remover.

I tried my best to save as many of her natural lashes as possible but she did lose several and the gaps are visible in the second image.

Lash extensions are NOT an inexpensive service. It can easily take 2 to 3 hours for an initial install. This is not a service to bargain shop, strict sanitation and quality materials are vital to the integrity of your lashes.

Reactions to glues are not uncommon, even if you've been fine having them done before, allergies can develop. But there is no reason the removal should have taken 5 times as long as normal. There is no reason that multiple natural lashes were glued to large clusters. Her eyelids were already showing signs of infection and the potential was and is there for her to lose nearly every natural lash she has.

The final images show various clusters I removed. Please, research the process of getting extensions, ask questions of your technician, ask what their sanitation protocol is, have them show you the lashes they will be using. AN GET AN ALLERGY TEST DONE 24 HOURS BEFORE!
