Lets get vulnerable for a second because social media isnāt real š¤
I was diagnosed with adhd at 23 and while it answered a lot of questions about myself, it also broke my heart because of the labels I have been given my whole life up until that point-
Lazy. Disorganized. Scatterbrained. Space cadet. Clumsy. Too much.
Just to name a few. To be told that your whole childhood took a serious toll on my mental health.
Nowadays I have resources to help but it doesnāt mean that I donāt still struggle. So, if you take nothing else away from this post just remember this-
Mental health matters š¤
Someone you know and love suffers in silence, Always be kind.
This is why service providers charge what we charge. at the end of the day, itās not just the makeup youāre paying for-
Its the insurance of knowing iāll be there just about no matter what life throws my way. I have yet to cancel on a bride, it would probably take me being on my deathbed to cancel on someoneās wedding day.
I might lose followers for saying this, but choosing your wedding makeup artist based on whoās cheapest is one of the biggest mistakes you can make. š
And before anyone comes for me- this isnāt about hiring the most expensive artist either.
Itās about understanding that your wedding day is not the day to choose someone based solely on the lowest price.
Your makeup artist is responsible for how you feel when you look in the mirror before walking down the aisle. Their work will be in some of the most important photos youāll ever have. And theyāre responsible for showing up prepared, professional, on time, and ready for whatever your wedding morning brings.
When youāre comparing artists, look beyond the price tag. Look at their experience. Their consistency. Their portfolio. Their professionalism. Their reviews and sanitation practices. And most importantly, whether their work makes you feel like you.
Because the right makeup artist is about so much more than who can do it for the least amount of money.
Iām going to hold your hand when I say this- but babe we have been booked for over a year.
Nothing breaks my heart more than having to turn away 30 potential brides because their date has been booked way in advance š„²
This is why I will forever shout it from the rooftops to book your bridal makeup artist / hairstylist as soon as you have a venue booked. We arenāt just saying book in advance as a sales tactic, we truly donāt like having to tell so many brides that weāre unavailable.
