Do you feel belonging in your life? I have been reflecting much lately on how rampant clicks and fitting in are for children, how intense it can be in years of being in school when we are also just trying to figure out, who am I?
What I am wondering now is how much is that still going on when we “grow up” ?
I feel blessed to say that I feel much belonging in my life now that I couldn’t have imagined as a child. AND it certainly still comes up for me. And moments where it feels like a risk to reveal when I’m not into what everybody else is.
what feels so different for me now than when I was younger though is that I’m willing to take the risk to challenge that and test it.
A small example I remember- a few years ago admitting to a group of women who all seemed very into astrology that I didn’t really care about it. that is it still OK for me to be here? Can you still love me? And then I got to experience the joy of realizing that it was OK.
(I also am tenderly aware that there are many places and contexts in our world where it doesn’t feel OK to be different. Where the circumstances and what’s happening mean that this conversation can’t even happen.)
Perhaps it is presumptuous of me to think that so many others have felt like an outsider. I would love to be in a conversation about this, with everyone. I realize that what I didn’t include up there was those who have actually FELT belonging the whole time, that don’t have the experience of being an outsider, if that’s you I would also love to hear.
So I’m asking, do you feel like you belong?
There are so many ways to say no. Different contexts call for different tones. Having access to our full range, is what I am after. May you remember more of the many flavors of no.
What senses are you using to determine your okay-ness?
Mirrors are a tricky thing.
They can be used in a way that can elevate
our contact with ourselves,
And they can also be used in a way
that quickly shifts into objectification.
We have all of these brilliant senses that are designed
To help us perceive ourselves in our inner worlds and what’s out there.
What senses have you forgotten to reference to come into contact with yourself?

Learning more about the words that I am attracted to, and breaking them down changes my relationship to language, bringing “it” alive.
If I just used google to look up the definition and origin of the word encounter, I would be missing out on the meaning that I have come to touch within the word.
Meaning evolves and changes over time, such is the blessing of having teachers and elders, that share their knowledge and embodied wisdom to those with listening ears.
I am so grateful for the influences in my life that lead me to a life more rich in experience, connection, and relationship.
Do an experiment with me and tell what happen for you, I would love to know 💜
One of the most meaningful things I do with my time is to sing the .radiance.sutras . used to speak about how they were meant to be sung and danced into life. Forever grateful to for introducing them to me 🙏

I don’t have words really-For the depth of gratitude I feel for my dear teacher, My life was touched by him immeasurably. Every experience we had together was a medicine that still vibrates. Thank you for helping me learn to love myself so deeply. Thank you for influencing me with such detail and such freedom. For being so devoted to one ancient text for your whole life, and letting echo and touch so many of us through you. .radiance.sutras I miss you already, yet when I listen in I feel you everywhere.
Blessed to have known and loved you. I can’t believe it’s been nearly two weeks already.
I had a call with my mentor last week and he laid down some wisdom that is still echoing in my head. He spoke about how at some point in our lives-often more than once, we have to fight for our lives. This song is still forming, but I wanted to share it now anyway.
This past year I had the great pleasure of taking a 6 month course with him and called The Art of Instincts and Intuition. For therapist and coaches looking to deepen their tracking, to be able to meet their clients deeper, to see the bigger picture of what is at play, and to be able to touch the disturbed places with more skill.
I see connections that I couldn’t before, in my clients and myself. The learning will keep unfurling for who knows how long-and I am so blessed this is so. They happened to be teaching this course again this coming year and will be taking applications soon!

Musings

I’ve been trying to figure out what is the opposite saying for “if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all”
whenever I feel the upwelling of love, admiration, appreciation for somebody in my life over something small or large, and I reveal that- the impact is beautiful.
The gift of uncovering that people have influenced me, that I have been listening.
What if you didn’t hold back the truth of love and appreciation when you have it to give?
