This month marks 20 years of being a hairstylist, and honestly, it doesn't seem possible.

The longest I've ever been away from doing hair was three months after having my son. Looking back, I realize how incredibly lucky I am to have spent the last two decades doing something I truly love.

To my clients—thank you. Some of you have been with me for nearly all 20 years, and a few even trusted me while I was still in beauty school. You've followed me through four salons, three cities, and some of you even drive over an hour just to sit in my chair. That kind of loyalty is something I'll never take for granted.

Over the years, you've become so much more than clients. We've celebrated weddings, babies, new jobs, and countless milestones together. We've also been there for each other through heartbreak, loss, and life's challenges. I genuinely look forward to every appointment because, in many ways, it's a chance to catch up with friends.

I also want to thank the many stylists I've had the privilege of working alongside over the years. Every salon and every coworker has taught me something—whether it was a new technique, how to better care for clients, or simply how to be a better stylist and person. I'm so grateful for every place this career has taken me and every talented stylist I've met along the way.

And, of course, thank you to my family. Thank you for trusting me with those very first haircuts, for cheering me on, and for supporting me every step of the way. And to my husband—thank you for encouraging me to open Studio Nine when I was scared to take the leap. You've always believed in me, even during the times I doubted myself.

Twenty years later, my heart is full. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. Here's to the next 20 years! ❤️

The annual Art Walk sponsored by the Watertown Arts Council returns to downtown Watertown on Wednesday, May 27 from 4-6 p.m.! This fun, family-friendly event showcases student artwork from across the district, as well as professional pieces created by local artists, in dozens of storefronts downtown. In addition, community members are invited to "Chalk the Walk" by creating chalk art along Main Street sidewalks the day of the event.

What started as a big, scary leap has turned into something I’m so proud of.

To my clients — thank you for showing up, trusting me, and letting me be part of your lives. Some of you have been with me for close to 20 years, which honestly blows my mind. It’s been such a joy to watch your lives over the years and to have so many of you become friends. Your loyalty means everything to me.

To every amazing woman who has worked at Studio Nine — you’ve all become more than coworkers, you’ve become friends. Each of you has made an impact on me and helped shape this space in your own way, and I’m so grateful for that.

And to my family and friends — thank you for always supporting me, believing in me, and of course trusting me with your hair too. It means so much to have you in my chair and in my corner.

This hasn’t always been easy, but it’s always been worth it. I’m beyond grateful for the people who have made these 5 years so special.

I’m so excited to finally share that I will be opening a storefront:

Eleven East Bakehouse & Mercantile

Duck Creek Collective will continue to be my brand — the heart, the vision, the recipes, the events, the community, and the story behind everything I create.

Eleven East Bakehouse & Mercantile is the place — the physical bakery and retail shop where that brand comes to life. It’s where you’ll be able to walk in, smell fresh sourdough, browse cozy handmade goods, pick up gifts, and gather.

Think of Eleven East as the front door… and Duck Creek Collective as the soul inside.

This space will be a combination of:
• An artisan sourdough bakehouse
• A curated mercantile of beautiful, useful, and thoughtful goods
• A gathering place for community, creativity, and connection

This has been a long time in the making, a lot of prayer, a lot of courage, and a lot of trust — and I’m so grateful to finally be standing in this season.
