Our second session making an ice queen again
It’s been a PROCESS getting Megan blonde again, but so rewarding and so worth it.
We started off with just a platinum root retouch. Once she was about 80% lightened we went back in and hit her band that she has about 2/3 inches from her root. After getting most of the band out we applied extra and cool blonde lightener to her whole head with 10vol for about five minutes just to get the built up toner out.
Once she was rinsed out, we glossed with 10/86
So Megan’s Hair has been through some s**t and we’re working on growing out some areas (mainly the whole front and crown). To make her less mullet-y we installed 1 pack (5 sandwiches) of in #60 and it was a PERFECT match

What do you consider a color correction? How do you know what to book for and if you’re considered a color correction?
To me its one of three things
🌸Any huge transformations
🌸 Any time something needs to be “fixed”
🌸Anytime you need to go more than two shades lighter or two shades darker

Not always the case, it can come out super cute when done the right way!
Chunky highlights are not something I get to do often so I convinced my little sister to let me give her some chunky highlights for a nice more dramatic pop!🤷🏼‍♀️ (by convinced I mean I just did it and didn’t tell her what I was doing)

Let’s talk about vivid/pastel maintenance!
Vivids can be an amazing way to express some fun tones, however do come with routine upkeep!
•The first step is a bleach out, highlights or foiliyage depending on your desired goal! Of course the hair’s integrity is super important so it may take a few sessions to achieve the desired level for the vivid you want as well as treatments and trims to keep the hair healthy!
• Congrats! You have some beautiful vibrant locks, now what? In order to keep them looking fresh a few steps must be followed:
❄️Cold water! The colder the better- hot water will fade it faster.
❤️ Infrequency of washing- the less you wash your hair the better! Dry shampoo will be your best friend!
🎨 Keeping up with treatments- the more porous your hair the quicker it’ll spit the color out! Treatments will keep the canvas nice and even!
🤬 Premium products purchased through the salon! Drug store, grocery stores, amazon and TJ Maxx sell diverted products that are either expired or contain terrible filler ingredients- but that’s a whole other post! Buy the recommended shampoo, conditioner and leave ins, it’s worth it to protect your investment!
💁🏼‍♀️ Routine maintenance appointments! A vivid gloss in between bigger appointments is a great inexpensive way to keep the color on point.
🐙Using professional color depositing shampoos! While more pricey and not an every day wash- these are an amazing option to keep it up between appointments yourself!

Red n rowdy is dead, she’s back to being blonde n bougie. Here’s another look at this short journey went through lmao.
We went from blondeeeeee to redhead because of breakage and damage. Megan lasted a good five months before she decided she had enough of the copper and it wasn’t for her.
