For actions on this day in 1945, during ’s , Sgt. Charles A. MacGillivary received the for bravery above and beyond the call of duty. With his unit surrounded by a Panzer Division, near Woelfling France, MacGillivary destroyed four machine gun nests and immeasurably helped his company to continue on its mission with minimum casualties.
