Chlorine can be drying on everything it touches. Just like it leaves your skin feeling dry, it can also strip moisture from both your natural hair and your extensions.
While we wouldn't recommend regularly submerging your extensions, a little preparation and the right aftercare can go a long way in protecting the longevity and health of your extensions.
💦 Wet your hair first & apply a leave-in conditioner: Hair acts like a sponge. Saturating it with clean water before swimming can help minimize chlorine absorption. A lightweight leave-in helps create an extra layer of protection against drying pool chemicals.
👩🏼🦱 Braid it back: A loose braid or low ponytail helps prevent tangles and matting while swimming.
🚿 Rinse immediately after: Don't wait until you get home. Rinse your hair with fresh water as soon as you are able to.
🧴 Hydrate!: Follow up with moisturizing products to replenish any lost moisture from sun, chlorine, or saltwater.
