Cake Batter found a beautiful home where he was loved. It was the kind of home we dream of for all of our animals.

And then his owner passed away.

This beautiful boy’s life has been a series of unfortunate events. And they seem to be never ending.

Just over two years ago Cake Batter was rescued from a dogfighting situation. We can’t imagine what his life was like before he came to us – but we know it was bad. Very bad.

He waited 8 months to be adopted. He was a volunteer and staff favorite, but still, he was living his life in a kennel. It was surely better than what had come before – but it was far from ideal.

In December of 2021 he finally found his person. And it was perfect. For over a year he lived the best life. And then things changed again, his loving owner passed away and Cake Batter ended up back at the shelter.

We want nothing more than for Cake Batter’s stay to be short. He deserves to be happy and to be loved.

A transition back to shelter life won’t be easy, so we’re hoping he won’t have to make it. Instead, that a family will see his story and fall in love with him just like we have – over and over and over again.
