Mimosa Farm is home to a nearly 6,000 sq foot home on 8.3 acres at the base of the Blue Ridge!

šŸ„ Apparently, we need to discuss what makes a farm… a farm. šŸ˜‚

I recently learned that Mimosa Farm’s ā€œfarmā€ status has been called into question because we ā€œonly have three cows and a donkey.ā€

First of all… the goats would like a word. 🐐
They are deeply offended by their exclusion from the livestock census.

But since we’re here, today’s little Farm Fact Friday seems appropriate:

A farm isn’t defined by how many cows you own.

Mimosa Farm sits on 8+ acres right here in the City of Waynesboro, where we raise livestock, maintain pasture, grow and bale hay, and spend an unreasonable amount of time repairing things animals have decided should no longer remain standing. šŸ˜‚

Our current agricultural workforce includes:

šŸ„ Three miniature Angus cows
šŸ« Joey, our very opinionated donkey
🐐 Our goats — who apparently need a better PR department
🌾 Pasture and hay production
šŸ‘©ā€šŸŒ¾ And one woman who has learned far more about fencing, manure, livestock, tractors and hay than she ever expected to know.

Farms come in all shapes and sizes. Some have hundreds of cattle and thousands of acres. Some are small family farms tucked into communities that have grown up around them.

Small doesn’t make it less of a farm.

And for the record, I’m going to continue calling Mimosa Farm… Mimosa Farm. ā¤ļøšŸŒ¾

The cows voted.
The donkey seconded the motion.
The goats are still upset they weren’t mentioned in the original complaint.

Motion carries. šŸ˜‚

Tomorrow we learn about the term agritourism.

Today’s agenda: catching up, following up, and finally getting back to YOU! šŸ’»ā˜•ļøšŸ¤

The past few weeks have been exhausting. So much of my time and energy has been focused on advocating for Mimosa Farm and navigating everything that comes along with that.

And somewhere in the middle of meetings, preparation, conversations, and simply keeping the farm running… my inbox got a little out of control. šŸ˜…

So today, I’m reclaiming my desk, pouring the coffee, and working my way through every backed-up email, message, and inquiry.

If you’ve been waiting to hear from me — today’s your day! šŸ™Œ

And I want to say something else, because I think it’s important.

Some people may think I’ve been fighting so hard for myself. I haven’t.

I’ve been fighting for every person who looks at Mimosa Farm and sees the place where they want to make a special memory. The couple who imagines saying ā€œI doā€ here. The family celebrating a milestone. The friends gathering around a table. The guests who come here to slow down, reconnect, celebrate, laugh, and leave with a memory they’ll carry with them.

That’s what I’ve been fighting for.

Mimosa Farm may be my home, but over the years, it has become part of so many other people’s stories too. And I believe that is something worth standing up for. šŸ¤šŸŒæ

So, today feels a little more normal.

Coffee poured. Laptop open. Inbox up.

And if I owe you a response — it’s coming today. ā¤ļø

ā€¼ļøPLEASE READā€¼ļø

First, I want to sincerely thank the City of Waynesboro staff for the time and work they have put into this process, and City Council for taking the time to listen to every person who chose to speak—whether they spoke in support, raised concerns, or simply asked questions.

There will not be a final vote on Mimosa Farm’s Conditional Use Permit until the next council meeting, so for now, we wait.

And while we wait, life at the farm will continue.

We will continue welcoming our registered guests. We will continue celebrating the special moments we are fortunate enough to be part of. We will continue caring for the animals, working on the property, and making memories here.

I also need to share one important change.

For years, I have been incredibly open with this property. People stop by to see the animals, walk through, take a look around, or simply enjoy the farm. I have loved being able to share this place so freely.

Unfortunately, based on some recent events, including threats and individuals entering the property without permission, I can no longer maintain that level of open access.

Effective immediately, Mimosa Farm will be accessible to registered guests, invited guests, and those with a scheduled appointment only.

If you are not here as a registered or invited guest, please contact us before coming onto the property so that an appointment can be arranged.

And because this has apparently become something I need to specifically clarify: Mimosa Farm is private property and is not currently open to the public for dog walking, strolling the grounds, visiting the animals, sightseeing, or self-guided visits. Please do not enter the property without permission.

This is not the way I would have preferred to handle access to a place I have worked so hard to make welcoming. But right now, protecting my family, my guests, my animals, and the people who work here has to come first.

To the many, many people who have reached out, signed the petition, attended meetings, written letters, spoken publicly, sent messages, stopped me in the grocery store, or simply reminded me that what we have built here matters—thank you. More than you know.

The process isn’t over, and neither are we.

Between now and September 14, we are going to keep doing what Mimosa Farm has always done best:

Welcoming our guests.
Taking care of this beautiful little piece of Waynesboro.
And making memories.

I respect the process, I appreciate that Council heard the community, and I look forward to the final vote on September 14.

Until then, there is still plenty of life to be lived at the farm. ā¤ļø

Tomorrow is an important day for Mimosa Farm. ā¤ļø

Our Conditional Use Permit application will come before Waynesboro City Council tomorrow, Monday, at 7:00 PM at the Charles T. Yancey Municipal Building.

Over the past several weeks, we have listened, answered questions, made changes, welcomed people onto the property, and worked hard to present a thoughtful plan for the future of Mimosa Farm.

Now, we’re asking for your support.

If you would like to show your support for Mimosa Farm and our Conditional Use Permit application, our petition can be found here:

https://c.org/55nhndnYFq

We would also be incredibly grateful to see supporters at tomorrow night’s City Council meeting.

If you are willing to speak in support of Mimosa Farm, please send us a private message. We can make sure you have the meeting information you need.

The meeting begins at 7:00 PM, and we recommend arriving early to ensure seating.

Whatever happens tomorrow, we are incredibly thankful for the people who have supported this little farm, celebrated milestones here, stayed with us, trusted us with their weddings and special moments, and reminded us why Mimosa Farm is worth fighting for.

Tomorrow, we show up. ā¤ļøšŸŒæ

Some days are glamorous… and some days are all about fresh sheets, spotless spaces, and making sure every little detail is just right.

Today is all about getting Mimosa Farm ready for a whole-house check-in. The beds are being made, the floors are getting their shine, and every room is getting that extra touch that says, ā€œWelcome. We’re so glad you’re here.ā€

The only thing missing from today’s hustle is Maggie. ā¤ļø She’s spending the day at the vet getting spayed, so we’re sending lots of love her way and can’t wait to have our sweet girl back home where she belongs.

Now, if you’ll excuse me… these guests aren’t going to fluff their own pillows. šŸ˜‰

✨ Something BIG is coming to Mimosa Farm… ✨

A few weeks ago, cameras rolled through the farm as American Dream TV captured our story—how this little dream in Waynesboro became so much more than a place to stay.

Soon, that episode will air… and we’re not just going to watch it.

We’re planning an exclusive Watch Party at the farm with heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, behind-the-scenes stories from filming, and a few surprises we’ve been keeping under wraps. šŸŽ¬šŸ„‚

This won’t be a public event. Invitations will be limited.

If you’ve ever cheered us on, stayed with us, celebrated here, or simply believed in this crazy dream, you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on this page over the next few weeks.

Trust me… this is one celebration you won’t want to miss. šŸ’› comment

Some love stories feel like they were pulled straight from the pages of a favorite novel.

One of them is a librarian. The other manages a bookstore. Somehow, they found each other… and now they’re writing the best chapter yet.

We were so honored to witness their intimate elopement at Mimosa Farm. Proof that the sweetest love stories don’t need a big audience—just the right person.

Congratulations to the happy couple. May your next chapter be your best one yet. šŸ“ššŸ¤āœØ

No hints.

Just an old photo I stumbled across today.

Anyone know who these two little girls are? šŸ‘€

Wrong answers are absolutely welcome. šŸ˜‚šŸ‘‡

There are some places that don’t need a lot of decorating… because the view does all the work.

Friday evening, this little glass house became the beginning of another forever. ✨

Every time I walk up the path before a ceremony, I have the same thought: I can’t believe this is real.

One couple. One beautiful view. One ā€œI do.ā€

If you’ve been dreaming of an intimate wedding where the focus is on the two of you—not a giant guest list—I would love to show you around.

Would you say ā€œI doā€ in the glass house or out on the mountain-view lawn? šŸŒæšŸ’ Tell me which one you’d choose in the comments!

Happy Sunday from Mimosa Farm! šŸŒæšŸŽ¶

It’s a quiet day around here. We’ve got one quick tour, Mya is hosting Beauty Bar, and the rest of us (me, Max and Maggie) are soaking in a rare Sunday lounging by the pool .

Now… if you happen to hear music drifting through the neighborhood today, here’s a little public service announcement:

šŸŽµ If you love the music… it’s definitely coming from Mimosa Farm. šŸ˜‰
šŸŽµ If it’s not exactly your style… it’s the Moose Lodge. šŸ˜‚

In all seriousness, our neighbors at the Moose Lodge, who share a property line with us, are hosting a fundraiser today to help cover repairs to their pool. There will be live music, food, and plenty of fun—and it’s cash only, so swing by if you’d like to support a great local cause.

We love seeing our community come together. Have a wonderful Sunday, friends! šŸ’š
