Did some teasey lights on my mannequin today! It was my first day on the salon floor at school and I was pretty nervous. since I took a break from school, I thought I’d be lost and very behind. The instructors at City Pointe are absolutely amazing and we’re so helpful in getting me set up and working. I also have some stellar classmates that are so kind and encouraging! Today I learned a new technique, and that it takes me about 2 hours to foil a whole head. If you book with me, maybe we can see if I can beat that time, but of course, with beautiful results ❤️

Welcome to Pea Pod Beauty! I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself. I’m Jessie Pease and I am a cosmetology student at City Pointe Beauty Academy in Webb City, MO. Having a background in psychology and counseling, I always knew I wanted to create a space for people to feel safe and heard. When you sit in my chair I want you to know you’re not just getting a haircut but a listening ear and compassion. Sometimes when we sit in the hairdresser’s chair with that black cape on and our washed hair slicked back, we are turned around and faced with the reflection in the mirror. If you’re like me, that reflection is not always easy to look at and you find yourself being unkind to yourself. I’m here to tell you that my chair is for anyone, no matter how you feel when you look at yourself in the mirror. My hope is to help you to see your beauty on the inside as well as the outside. My chair is inclusive. You can come as you are and there will be a safe space for you to express yourself and tell your story. In my chair, it’s more than just a haircut, it’s water for the soul. I hope you’ll join me in this journey and know that there is always a place for you!
