satin & sage has been a dream come true of mine

when i decided to take a leap of faith and attend a lash course (J’s Beauty Co.) i was working a job that drained me emotionally and physically. little did i know what lashing would bring me. i got to quit that job and start lashing full time at a salon in webb city. i absolutely loved having the freedom to be able to do what i love every single day. but then, life happened. i decided to attend paul mitchell in springfield and got my second lash course there (José Pérez) i drove there and back daily and had to make the decision to stop lashing at the salon and focus more on school. i took a break from lashing and it was the hardest choice i had to make and i hated not being able to do the thing i loved so dearly. i was still lashing on occasion, but not nearly as much as i was. but then i came back! and it has been such a blessing.

this path has not always been easy, but it has certainly filled me with such joy and passion. will i ever do lashes full time again? i have no idea. but one thing i do know, the Lord will always place you right where He wants you in His timing.

i want to thank each and every person who has ever supported this little business of mine. you have had such an impact on my life in one way or another. i cannot wait to see what the future holds for satin & sage!

the foundation of my business has been and always will be built on Galations 5:13… “Serve one another humbly in love” and i will continue to build off of that🩷

this is not a post to shame other lash artists… i just want people to be very aware of this…

i have clients come to me after seeing someone else and their lashes are so damaged that half the time, i won’t even lash them. there are so many risks to getting lashes. breakage, lashes falling out due to stickies, not properly caring for them… this is why it is SO important to find an artist who genuinely cares about the health of your lashes. someone who takes their time and isn’t afraid to say no to different styles if it won’t keep up the integrity of your lashes. a lash artist who will educate you and help you avoid making mistakes that will make lash extensions impossible.

when getting your lashes done, you should not have to worry about having gaps all throughout the lash line. and you definitely should not have to worry about your lashes snapping off because they were placed incorrectly.

all this to say, when choosing a lash artist… do your research! find someone that works for you and cares about you, not just a paycheck.
