Movement doesn’t have to be intense to make a difference.
Many people put off exercising because they think they need to jump into a challenging workout. In reality, one of the best things you can do for your body is move consistently in a way that feels manageable.
Regular movement can help improve strength, balance, flexibility, mobility, energy levels, sleep, and overall well-being.
If you’re just getting started, classes like Chair Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Yoga Stretch, Yoga Fundamentals, and Pilates Mat are all wonderful places to begin building confidence while moving at your own pace.
Not sure which class fits your goals? Director Marissa Farrell is happy to point you in the right direction. Your next favorite class might be waiting for you at Stepping Stone Studios!

If your shoulders are always the first place to tighten up, this one’s for you.
It doesn’t take much for tension to build in the upper shoulders. Hours at a computer, a stressful week, carrying bags, working in the garden, or even sleeping in an awkward position can all leave your neck and shoulders feeling stiff.
In today’s video, Xi shares Gallbladder 21 (GB21), an acupressure point located halfway between the base of the neck and the tip of the shoulder. Gently massaging this area may help release tension in the upper trapezius muscles and encourage your shoulders to relax.
⚠️One important reminder: This point is contraindicated during pregnancy and should be avoided. ⚠️
Ready to give your shoulders a break? Visit Stepping Stone Acupuncture & Wellness and let us help you get to the root of your neck and shoulder tension, so you can move through your day more comfortably!

Do you ever get to the end of the day and think, “Why do I feel so worn out?”
Your feet are sore. Your legs feel heavy. Your shoulders are tight. You finally crawl into bed… and somehow you’re still wide awake.
Those things don’t always seem connected, but they all have one thing in common: your body may be asking you to slow down.
Reflexology is often thought of as a treatment just for your feet, but it is in fact a treatment that treats the whole body. Many people choose it because they want to feel more relaxed, release built-up tension, alleviate pain, and take a break from the constant go-go-go of everyday life.
If more than one of these signs sounds familiar, it may be time to stop pushing through them. Reflexology could be the reset your body has been asking for.
Schedule your visit at Stepping Stone Acupuncture & Wellness and take the first step toward feeling like yourself again.

Low back pain doesn’t always need more rest—it often needs the right kind of movement.
When your back starts hurting, it’s easy to freeze, avoid movement, or hope it’ll be better tomorrow. But staying completely still can sometimes make things feel even stiffer.
That’s why we asked our team one simple question: “What do you do when someone comes in with low back pain?”
The answers weren’t all the same—and that’s the point. Gentle stretching, acupuncture, massage, Tai Chi, Qigong, mindful breathing, cupping, and other hands-on therapies can all play a role depending on why your back is hurting.
Because there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. The best results come from understanding what’s contributing to your pain and creating a plan that fits your body.
If your back has been asking for attention, maybe it’s time to listen. We’d love to help you figure out where to start at Stepping Stone!

Your jaw might not be the real problem. 👀
If you’ve been dealing with TMJ pain, jaw clenching, or pelvic floor tension, you may be surprised to learn they’re often connected. The body doesn’t work in isolated parts—it works as one connected system.
Many holistic approaches, including Traditional Chinese Medicine, yoga, kinesiology, and fascial anatomy, recognize the relationship between the jaw and pelvic floor. When one area stays tight or restricted, the other can mirror that same pattern.
That’s why we look beyond where it hurts. Through acupuncture, abdominal therapy, massage therapy, craniosacral therapy, yoga, and mindful movement, we focus on restoring balance throughout your body—not just chasing symptoms.
Your body has a story to tell. Come discover what it’s been trying to say at Stepping Stone!

Most falls don’t happen because you’re clumsy. They happen because balance changes over time.
Balance is a skill, and like any skill, it gets better when you practice it.
If you don’t regularly challenge your balance, your body gradually loses some of the coordination and stability that help keep you steady. The good news? It’s never too late to start improving it.
Yoga, tai chi, pilates, and strength training at Stepping Stone Studios can help improve stability, coordination, and confidence while strengthening the muscles that support you every step of the way.
Ready to feel a little steadier? Come see which class feels like the right fit for you. 🌿

Lower back pain doesn’t always start with a sudden injury.
More often, it builds over time from long hours sitting, repetitive movements, poor posture, or simply not moving enough throughout the day.
As your body becomes stiffer, everyday activities like getting out of a chair, reaching overhead, or walking for long periods can become more uncomfortable than they should be.
In this reel, Marissa demonstrates five gentle yoga movements that help improve mobility, reduce stiffness, and encourage your spine and surrounding muscles to move through their natural range of motion.
Gentle, consistent movement can be one of the simplest ways to support a healthier back and keep small aches from becoming bigger limitations!
Save this reel so it’s there the next time your back feels tight, then join Marissa in class to experience what regular movement can do over time. 😌

If your lower back aches by the end of the day, keep reading…
When your core, hips, and glutes aren’t doing their share of the work, your lower back often ends up picking up the slack. Over time, that can make everyday activities like standing, walking, bending, or lifting feel more difficult than they should.
Pilates at Stepping Stone Studios focuses on strengthening the muscles that support your spine, improving posture, increasing flexibility, and creating better movement patterns throughout your body. It’s low-impact, gentle on the joints, and designed to build balanced strength—not just stronger abs.
Pain doesn’t have to be the reason you stop moving. In fact, the right kind of movement can often be part of the solution. That’s why Pilates is one of the many movement classes we offer to help you stay active, strong, and doing the things you love.

The foods you eat every day do more than satisfy your appetite—they can also influence your body’s inflammatory response. 🍔🍟
Inflammation is a normal part of healing after an injury or illness. But when it becomes chronic, it has been associated with a variety of long-term health conditions.
While no single food causes chronic inflammation, dietary patterns high in ultra-processed foods, sugary drinks, refined carbohydrates, processed meats, fried foods, and excess alcohol have been associated with higher levels of inflammation.
Supporting your health isn’t about following a perfect diet. Choosing more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, olive oil, and fatty fish, along with regular movement, quality sleep, and stress management, can all play a role.
At Stepping Stone, acupuncture, massage therapy, yoga, pilates, tai chi, and more complement these healthy habits by helping you manage stress, relieve muscle tension, and keep your body moving well.
Food is one piece of the puzzle. Let Stepping Stone help you put the rest together. 🧩
