This handsome guy had his follow up doctors’ appointment today after our accident last month and he is cleared! He’s healing great and shouldn’t need any surgery or additional appointments and can return to normal life! I have my next appointment Monday and I’ll do an update and it will give me a better idea how many more of you I can schedule appointments for. Again, I apologize for the long delays. It has been one heck of a month between healing, getting a new phone that marked all my messages and texts as ready and a lot of doctors appointments 🤣. Thank you all so much for your patience and support! It means the world to me! Talk soon! Don’t be afraid to reach back out if you haven’t heard from me for a while. You could be lost in the sauce of getting a new phone 😂

Just checking in with you guys and letting you all know doing well on my recovery journey and am back to working part time. I’m working through messages but still have a lot to go and people I had to reschedule are getting contacted first before I book new appointments. If you had an appointment with me that’s already set up and I haven’t contacted you to reschedule you’re still good! Thank you all for your patience as I navigate this journey of healing and all the changes that has created! 🥰

Hey friends! For those of you that have been following along with my recovery journey or for those of you looking to book an appointment, please read!
Yesterday, May 15th I had my 2 week follow up appointment after falling 30 feet, dislocating my hip, fracturing my hip socket, fracturing my pelvis, breaking a rib and lacerating my liver. My husband also fell and broke some ribs and got a lower back compression fracture (he’s doing well also! Still waiting for his follow up appointment). I got a new set of X-rays and a thorough exam and so far everything is doing good! I will need to continue to get X-rays every month for the next 6 months and then every 3 months for about another year. This is to make sure there are not changes to my hip socket due to loss of blood supply. If there is, they’ll put in a screw and if that doesn’t work, I get a sweet bionic hip! The first 6 weeks are crucial and I have a 30% chance of dislocating it again (or as I like to say a 70% chance of not disclosing it again 🥰) and if it dislocates again, that also means it’s bionic hip time. I have been permitted to return to work if I can sit most of the time and not work more than 4 hours a day. I have a short maintenance appointment next Monday I am going to do as a test run and if my body allows me to do it, I plan on reopening my books to current clients for maintenance appointments. I will warn you, I think I am going to be a decent amount slower for a while and may also need breaks or help if I drop something 🤣. I know you guys are wonderful and I have no doubt you’ll be patient with me through this process. It’s going to be a bit of a learning process for me as I learn to work under new circumstances but I’m excited to get back at it! If all goes well, and I don’t have any further complications, I should be back to my old self in 6 months. And don’t you worry, I’ll be getting right back up on those ladders and working on the house again. This has not discouraged me one bit. Also, if I do not reach back out to you by next Monday/ Tuesday (may 18th or 19th) I kindly ask you reach out to me again. My phone also suffered the fall and I now have a new one. Thankful for you all 😊

Hey friends! It’s been a few days and I just wanted to share a little update with you all on our healing journey! Please check the past few posts if you’re unaware of what I’m talking about.
Both my husband and I had our first doctor’s appointments since being in the hospital and overall we are doing good and healing, it’s just going to be a lengthy recovery road. On this Friday I will have a follow up appointment with orthopedic surgery and more X-rays. I’m hoping after this appointment on Friday they will be able to give me a timeline on when I’m able to return to work!
For those of you who know me, you know I hate holding still and I’m a bit of a workaholic. Everything in my being wants to just return to work this second and make that work somehow, but that’s not reasonable right now and I need to make sure I’m cleared by the surgical team to return before I do. The last thing I want to do is do something to injure myself further which could lead to more complications and things not healing right.
I plan on trying to respond to most of your messages and texts and emails tomorrow but if you’re looking to set up an appointment or reschedule and appointment I had to cancel I won’t know when that can be until this Friday. I’m hoping they’ll be able to tell me more. I thank you all for your patience and kind words. I’m trying my best to stay positive. It’s just tough having to put so much off while we heal.
Not only does this put my work on hold but it also has completely halted the progress on our home renovations. But honestly all these things are so trivial when you think about the fact we walked out of this accident alive. That’s what matters. I know everything else can wait and I’m hoping you guys continue to understand until I can see you again. I’m trying my best to heal up so I can be there for all of you again 💜
Sending hugs and love to you all. Thank you for reading and being there for me 🥰
Literally one of the best feelings I’ve ever experienced. Just being alive and here and able to walk after a 30 ft fall. I just wanted you to all know I have new perspective. You literally do not know when one day will be your last or when your life may make a crazy change. Don’t let the small things bother you, surround yourself with people you love and they love you back and don’t take anything for granted. Thank you all for being here and supportive through this uncertain time in life.
If you watched this through to the end, you can watch me cough and it almost took me out 🤣. Also since I’m not able to work yet I spent a while today decking out my new wheels so it feels more like me lol. Boy did it wind me but progress! I’m hoping to find some type of tall chair I can sit in to return to shorter maintenance appointments soon but I’m not there quite yet 💜

Just wanted to pop in here and let you guys know it’s great to be home and we’re recovering well! We’re a little slow but that’s to be expected! Chris is walking with a back brace and I’m walking the help of a walker! We feel very grateful to be able to be moving! I also wanted to say thank you to those of you who have sent prayers, kind words, helped with transportation or sent money. I would never ask for any of these things but I’m so thankful for the wonderful people we have in our lives and you’ve all helped make this is smoother transition back home! We both have follow up appointments next week and will know more then! Until then we’ll be sticking to resting and the occasional lap around the house with our new brace and wheels! 🙂 we will not forget the kindness any of you have shown us 💜

We were both discharged today! We are back home, in our own bed and with our family and senior kitty, Yoda! We are very sore, very tired and beat up but very very thankful. Thank you to any of you who reached out or offered assistance. We love you all 💜
We have very limited mobility right now but have follow up appointments on the 11th to assess what recovery will continue to look like.
For now, I’m hoping for a long nap 😅
I’m relearning to walk!
I’m relearning to walk! Might look slow but I’m pretty pumped for a day turnaround time! Progress!

Little update for you guys from my last post. Both my husband and I are still in the hospital and unsure of release date but things are going okay! And they’ve let us visit eachother!
They got my hip back in! It took 6 tries, one while I was conscious and the other 5 while I was unconscious. It took a special table that straps you in and pulls 300 pounds of torque on your leg but it went in! I fractured it out of the front and got my leg bone wedged in a notch in my pelvis. There’s an x ray if you want to scroll but I recommend not if you’re easily bothered 😅. My liver laceration is stable! I have one crack in my pelvis but it should heal itself. I also found out I have a broken rib.
Chris is doing good as well! He has some fractured ribs and also a compression fracture in a disk in his lower back. He shouldn’t need surgery but is going to need a special back brace while he heals.
We were both up and walking today with walkers. Looks like I might need one for a while to say the least. And I’m still unsure at this moment what that means for my work. If you have an upcoming appointment I’m trying to touch base about it!
Still so thankful we’re alive! We will come out of this stronger than ever! If you don’t know what happened please check the last post on my page for the full story. Thank you all so much for your kind words 💜
