If there was a time that validated this theory, it was Covid.

Covid prohibited everyone wha who was NOT considered an ESSENTIAL worker, to remain under restriction.

Stylist and other beauty professionals fell under those guidelines.

Though not receiving what was so easily available put many people in a state of depression, anxiety and frustration.

Some people were cutting their hair on socials, and having full blown anxiety attacks bc they didn’t know what to do to their hair or their children’s hair.

Now some pivoted, took the time to teach or be taught, while others resorted to a short cut or locs

And then you have those who risked their lives for the cause.

If Covid told me anything it told me, this profession is a luxury service that the consumer has to know themselves that this is something that is needed to make their lives easier.

Having a hairstylist or any beauty professional allows you to have your time, energy and peace back.

It’s like going to a restaurant or having a private chef, having a washing machine or a maid that comes to clean for you.

Everything with time can be self taught

But you ask yourself, do you value getting your hair, shampooed , styled and cared for, while you take care of the things that need you

The same brand of water is sold in the street, hotels, airports and restaurants all at different prices

And depending on the need, you pay

So decide this day, what align with you values and move accordingly.
