THE POWER OF MASSAGE Our daughter has been having TERRIBLE teething pain the past few days. I'm talking red cheeks, screeching cries, the perpetual gallons of drool... you know, The Works. Did I mention the screeching cries?!! It's been a nightmare... not only for her, but for us. Sitting by helplessly while your baby is in pain is the worst part. Last night, Kendra had just given her a bath... and shortly after that, the cries started. I braced myself for 10 minutes of screeching... But then they stopped almost immediately! Kendra texted me "you've got to see this..." so I ran upstairs, to see the scene pictured in this video. I had to record this beautiful moment. Basic effluerage and one-handed petrissage strokes had superceded the pain, and completely hypnotized our girl into a deep state of sleep within minutes! It was pretty awesome to behold. [Side note] The irony is that I was on this page reading through the replies to my recent post "Our industry is obsessed with certification" when Kendra called me upstairs. I assure you she is not certified in infant massage 🤣... but sometimes intuition and a mother's love are enough!
