Hold onto your packages, folks! There's a sneaky scam making the rounds in various states, and we want to keep you in the loop before you get caught in its web. It’s called a "brushing" scam, and it’s like getting an unsolicited surprise gift from your not-so-friendly neighborhood trickster!

Picture this: you get a random package from Amazon or some mystery shop, filled with shiny goodies like rings, bracelets, or even a Bluetooth speaker. Exciting, right? But wait—there's no sender info, just your address on the label. Inside, you’ll find a QR code begging to be scanned to unveil the mystery sender.

But hold your horses! Scanning that code could lead you straight to a phishing site, where they’ll try to swipe your personal and financial info faster than you can say "No, thanks!" You can toss the gift or keep it as a bizarre conversation starter, but whatever you do, don’t scan that QR code!

Help spread the word to your family and friends: if it’s a mystery package, leave that QR code alone and keep your info safe!

I am collecting canned goods and non perishable items for The Church of Lost and Found in West Carrollton. They are serving Christmas dinner to the people at Canterbury Court and trying to help with other families in the community.
