Fact: Tretinoin doesn’t actually thin your skin — it can help strengthen it. Tretinoin reduces the buildup of dead skin cells on the surface, which is where the “thinner skin” myth comes from. At the same time, it can thicken the dermis, supporting your skin’s strength and structure.
