It’s that time again! Fall is my favorite time to visit the city and do some great hair! I know it's been a minute since you've heard from me, I really appreciate your patience. Not to brag...but since I've seen you, I've gotten THREE promotions at Kevin.Murphy & my studio in West Hollywood has been so crazy! That's why I have to come a little earlier this year, but I would never leave y'all hanging. I'm so excited to come back for a quick visit. We have so much to catch up on!
I will be taking clients at Prince + Broad in SOHO October 16th &17th! This pop-up is going to be a CASH ONLY haircut extravaganza again. Please come prepared. On this trip my color services are limited to gloss add-ons for your haircut since I’m trying to maximize my time and get everyone in.
I cannot wait to see everyone and spend a little time in NYC. It's so wild that most of my clients out there have been with me for over a decade now and I feel so blessed to know all of you. As always, thank you for your ongoing support. I want to keep these pop-ups going as long as possible so I appreciate your patience while I navigate the new normal. See you soon!

Sometimes even a seasoned colorist takes chances on their own hair, lol. Did I mean to leave my base color on for over an hour and a half… no. Did I mean to leave ammoniated color with 20vol Cream.Activator on my mods and ends for over an hour… ABSOLUTELY NOT! Hey, I got distracted! 😅
Crazy that a decade later .murphy’s hair color still amazes me! Anyone that’s done and red or copper shades knows that it’s super tricky and there are tons of variables. That fact that my super fine hair didn’t turn brown or get compromised is a MIRACLE! If you’re a colorist that nerds out over great results or even someone that’s new to color behind the chair, I cannot recommend it enough. The portfolio is incredible and skincare based. The dimensional results give way to a more low maintenance way of coloration as well. 10/10 recommend!

They always say, surround yourself with people who speak your name in rooms you’re not in, even better if they record it! Even though I didn’t get to attend the Gala this year, my beautiful friend sent me this video from the event and I am screaming!!!! IS SUCH AN ICON and one of the many reasons I talk people out of gray coverage!
Did you know that out of the nearly 300 clients I service each year less then ten get full coverage root touch-ups every 4-6weeks? Even those clients have been switched to softer colorations with multi-tonal coverage. To soften the line of demarcation as it grows out I use ammonia-free color by .murphy that maintains the natural highs and lows of your hair for a younger more vibrant look. My mission as a stylist is to accentuate what your hair does naturally so that you can maintain an effortless low-maintenance look. Hate to say it, but there is nothing low-maintenance about root touch-ups. Plus! Gray can be chic! I gravitate towards looks that don’t try to hide it. Most of my clients get zonal highlights, seasonal gray blending glosses, and colorations that incorporate the silver. There are so many options to rock your new sparkly friends! We had so much fun out in Palm Springs over the weekend! It was so nice to get away and show some support for a longtime friend/client who has put so much work into his up coming film !
I got to meet so many great people that are involved with the project and made some great memories at the ! I grew up in a rural community going to livestock shows and even got to do some cotton queen pageant hair early in my career back in Texas. The Gay Rodeo in Palm Springs filled my heart with so much pride and appreciation for our LGBTQ+ community & has me so stoked for PRIDE WEHO next month! Thank you for including us ! 💞

PINCH ME! I still cannot believe that the MAN, the MYTH, THE LEGEND, came by to talk to little ol’ me about Studio life yesterday! If you’ve ever sat in my chair, you know that .murphy products are the ONLY products I use because the skincare based formulas are life changing.
My love for the brand started as a baby stylist almost 17-years ago when I graduated from beauty school and have enhanced my career every step of the way. People always tell me that I have beautiful hair and I always tell them I just have great products. My hair is actually very inconsistent and these weightless products are the gift that keep on giving on my fine frizzy hair. I was a super fan WAY BEFORE I joined the .murphy.education team. When I heard that Kevin was introducing color, I said count me in! I love that Ben the color feels like a treatment on the hair. I’ve now been with the color education team for almost a decade and I just recently joined our cutting team as well. So you can see why having Kevin himself in my studio was such a big deal. Can’t wait to see what they do with the footage. 😝🤩🥰
