IS AIRBUSH TANNING SAFE? According to the American Academy of Dermatology and the Skin Cancer Foundation, the most effective and safe way to tan is by using sunless or self-tanning products that contain dihydroxyacetone (DHA) as the active ingredient. We also provide ear, nose and lip protection (not required but suggested). DHA is a FDA approved simple carbohydrate compound that is derived from plant sources such as beet sugar and sugar cane. The DHA reacts with your dead skin cell’s, resulting in a bronzing effect. Therefore, as your skin goes through its natural exfoliation process, these dead skin cells shed, thus fading the tan. Airbrush tanning gives you a beautiful natural-looking tan without the long-term skin damage associated with UV exposure. With airbrush tanning you reduce the effects of skin aging and skin cancer associated with UV exposure. One airbrush tanning application is equivalent to approximately 6 tanning bed sessions in color. Airbrush tanning is more cost effective and spares your skin from the damaging effects of UV/Sun exposure. HOW LONG WILL MY TAN LAST? You can expect your tan to last for about 5 to 7 days depending upon your skin condition and preparation. The day after you get your tan we recommend moisturizing twice daily to extend the life of the tan.
