Not long ago, I shared that I was offering free services to same-sex couples who felt they needed to rush to elope within the next six months. What I didn’t expect was the overwhelming support from other local wedding and beauty businesses who immediately stepped up to join this effort for my community. It was truly incredible.

Now, let me introduce you to Caribe, who drove all the way from Tennessee with her partner of 9 years to get married after seeing our posts. Friends, this is what humanity looks like. This is what it means to love your neighbor. Knowing that, here in our little corner of this “red state,” we’ve created a community so loving and accepting that others are traveling here to celebrate their love brings me to actual tears.

It all starts with just one or two people taking a stand. That spark inspires others, and before you know it, hope is alive and thriving.

I love my community. I love the Twin Cities and everything we stand for. Hate doesn’t win here. Love always does.

Our directory has been updated again! We now have THIRTEEN wedding professionals offering free services to same-sex couples eloping within the next six months. Everyone is located in or willing to travel to Northeast Louisiana (except Witchy Weddings NOLA which is offering free elopement planning and coordination in New Orleans.

My inbox has been PACKED FULL and I can't thank you all enough for being the light in the dark during an uncertain time. I have folks messaging me from different parts of the country because where they live currently is unsupportive or unwilling to work with them. Together we have made our corner in this southern state a safe place for others to come to, be themselves and celebrate their love. It just goes to show that when we come together with love and acceptance in our hearts, we really can make a difference.
