Although I got my license in 2009, I think it’s a gift to have a taste of the “old ways”, but love and live in the “new”.
I have a serious opinion and passion for how great our career can be IF a stylist works it. ⬇️

Being client oriented + valuing customer service will get you farther alone than anything else. If your clients sit in your chair and they know that you truly are caring for them,and are doing every single thing that could be best for them, listening to them, making them comfortable, and appreciating them, then they will be with you for life.

Stay coachable- do not lose your fire, be open to adjusting/improving and elevating your ways and thought process, be open to learning from anyone, even someone with less experience than you, and do what you need to do to stay hungry, which for me is continuing to take classes and connecting with other Stylists.

Consultation- oh my gosh, this is a big one for me. I feel like every redo or service gone wrong, there was a flaw in the consultation, which does make it your fault as the professional. It is our duty and responsibility to make the consultation/expectations clear for both parties.

Take your career seriously- be like Spider-Man and know that if you want the big reward, you have to play a big game and you need to show up as any other professional would at the level you’re expecting to be, at the minimum that is a professional appearance, that is showing up early and being prepared, that is investing in yourself/ in your tools, following up and making notes. These are all super simple things to ensure that you are organized as seen as the professional you are.

I absolutely love how fun and rewarding this industry can be, but only after you’ve put in the work to earn it. 👏🏼 Now go out there and take care of your customers so well and reep all the rewards babe!
