REAL, RAW, & VULNERABLE

✨ LONG READ ~ I realized since I posted about my Monday microneedling skin care journey, something was missing.

What was missing was simply me: the real, the raw, and the vulnerable me, and it's been heavy on my heart to share.

The before picture is unfiltered, but it looks smooth, vibrant, glowy, and youthful, which isn't a bad thing, but because of the angle of the camera and the amazing Recovery Balm, it changed everything and how I think I looked to you. This picture, on the other hand, shows the scars, the post-microneedling redness and swelling, but also the reason behind becoming an Esthetician in the first place.

Being an Esthetician doesn't mean having picture-perfect skin, and if you think that it does, I'm sorry, you're wrong (in my opinion). You would basically be asking that we disregard fundamental human aspects such as experiencing stress, hormonal fluctuations (hello to being a woman 🙄), and the uncontrollable environmental factors, all of which play a huge role in our bodies and skin. Healthy skin and one that I'm comfortable in is the goal! 🥰

As an Esthetician, I have the opportunity to continue my personal growth and learning. I pray to have the chance to help those who are facing or have faced challenges similar to my own ongoing struggles. 💞

If you would have asked me to show my naked face before becoming a Mama and Esthetician, I would have cried (literally cried big, ugly tears!) Becoming a mama changed me, though, and I want to show my babies that it's okay. Don't get me wrong, some days are hard and some people in this world can be cruel, rude, and unkind, but to surround yourself with those who treat you exactly how you are supposed to be treated: with love and kindness, is the best feeling and makes things a little bit easier. I truly believe I'm where God wanted me to be.

So in true Dawn fashion (short story turned into a whole book 😂), this is me showing all of you what it looks like to be the REAL, RAW, & VULNERABLE version of myself.
