There she is. That smile.
That radiant personality.

5 years. 1,825 days. 43,800 hours.

That’s how long I have lived without my mom.
Saying “lived” feels wrong, survived doesn’t feel right either.

She was only 58. Watching the person who had so much life just slowly fade away, hurts / stings and burns more than anything I have ever felt.
And for anyone who says - “she’s not over it yet” No. I’m not. I don’t think I will ever be over losing my mother. There will forever be a post for my mother. Every year. Any time in between that I feel is warranted. You don’t get over losing someone. Your puzzle is broken, shattered. Now you have to piece it back together and the final picture is different from the last time it was whole 💔

Losing her was the hardest thing I’ve had to fight.
Then had to fright tooth and nail all over, just to make it through each day.

There isn’t any pick up the phone and call.
There isn’t “mom, how do I handle this”
There isn’t anymore garden.
There isn’t anymore telling it like it is and pointing out when I’m wrong.

There just isn’t.

There is still plenty of grief, and plenty of life to go before I see you again….

Sofia: mom what’s that light?
Me: it looks like a Ferris wheel
Sofia: it’s moving
Frank: it’s the moon!

Watching the full moon rise above the water was such a beautiful experience! It was a really pretty red before coming fully up!
