🎃 SPOOKY SEASON IS ALMOST HERE! 👻
🔮SALE 🔮 SALE 🔮SALE 🔮SALE
Promo code: SPOOKY
(Use this code at checkout to receive your discount.)
Before we launch the sale that scares our staff more than any haunted house ever could (because of how ridiculously busy it makes us), we need to make sure our new website can handle the chaos!
We’re testing out a new promotional feature, and we need your help!
👻 60-MINUTE MASSAGE FOR JUST $100! 👻
Book with ANY massage therapist for ANY available date, or try purchasing a gift card using the promotional code!
We’re testing to make sure the code applies correctly to both appointment bookings AND gift card purchases before we launch our bigger seasonal sale.
🚨 HERE’S WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP!
If the promotional code doesn’t work, PLEASE LET US KNOW! We can’t fix what we don’t know is broken, and we’d much rather catch any issues now than when hundreds of people are trying to book during our big sale!
🎃 ONLY 10 AVAILABLE!
Once all 10 have been claimed, that’s it! We cannot make exceptions or extend the offer.
⭐ A SPECIAL NOTE FROM BIRD:
For those of you who have been around awhile, you know I used to run massage specials much more frequently. Those days are over! I now only put massages on sale like this ONE time a year, for my birthday! 🎂 October-January is the only eligible time I am able to live inside the spa and work the hours needed to pull off the schedule demand these sales require.
So when you see one of these offers pop up, take advantage of it. They aren’t something we regularly offer anymore, and once they’re gone, they’re gone!
Consider this our little dress rehearsal before the spooky season madness officially begins! 👻
IF THE CODE DOES NOT APPLY, I AM A WOMAN OF MY WORD, please notify me immediately and I will honor the offer while we fix the glitch. If it DOES work, also please let me know. I will sit here and patiently twirl my thumbs and hope I got it right- the quicker I know, the sooner the MEGA sale can drop! 👻🔮

🔎 WHERE IS BIRD?! 🗺️
I know, I know. Booking an appointment with me is next to impossible sometimes. Trust me, I’m aware! 🙃
BUT I HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS! 🎉
First, let’s address a few things!
1️⃣ HAVE YOU TRIED ASHLEE?! 💆♀️
I promise you, Ashlee is right on up there with me!
In fact, she’s actually adopted quite a few of my clients. Some of them don’t even book with me anymore!
And you know what? I LOVE THAT!
What she does works better for some people, and that’s exactly how it should be!
Seriously, give her a try. I promise she doesn’t bite! 🌸
2️⃣ LOVE MY DEEP TISSUE? MEET MIGUEL! 💪
If you love booking with me because of my deep tissue work, I’m telling you, MIGUEL IS YOUR GUY!
Deep aches? Sore muscles? That ONE spot that absolutely refuses to give?
What I work on for 90 minutes, Miguel can sometimes accomplish in 30 with Body Tempering.
I’m telling you, this guy knows what he’s doing!
Don’t overlook him just because it’s not a traditional massage. You might be surprised by how much you love it!
3️⃣ SO… WHERE HAVE I BEEN?! 🗺️
As many of you know, my daughter recently received a medical diagnosis.
Mayo Clinic is now a regular part of our lives.
As sad as that is, we finally have answers. ❤️
And with those answers comes something I haven’t had in a while: peace of mind.
My mind is no longer a million miles away trying to figure out what’s wrong, where to go, or what to do next.
Those doctors truly are some of the best in the world, and knowing my daughter is in safe hands means more to me than I can explain.
SO WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR MY SCHEDULE?! 👀
🎉 MORE APPOINTMENTS ARE OPENING IN OCTOBER!
And they’ll CONTINUE to open!
Here’s where things get exciting!
Until about 24 hours ago, our scheduling system had a VERY annoying limitation. 🙃
Let’s say I normally take Fridays off, but THIS Friday I happen to be available.
Could I just open up that one Friday?
NOPE! 🚫
The system wanted me to open EVERY Friday!
And sometimes I want to enjoy life, too! Maybe I want a Saturday off, but I’m perfectly happy working extra hours on a Tuesday.
Could I do that?
ALSO NOPE! 🤦♀️
It was all or nothing, which created some pretty spectacular scheduling nightmares.
✨ ENTER SCOTTY, OUR IT GENIUS! 🪄💻
This man is constantly working magic behind the scenes, and he FINALLY made it possible!
I can now open individual days, extend my hours when I’m available, and add appointments without changing my entire regular schedule!
THIS IS HUGE FOR ME AND EVEN BETTER FOR YOU! 🥳
📅 HERE’S THE IMPORTANT PART!
My schedule is no longer something you should check once and assume that’s all I’ve got!
An appointment that wasn’t available yesterday might suddenly be available TODAY!
👀 Check periodically!
📲 Book online!
🔎 See what pops up!
And PLEASE don’t wait for me to respond to a text asking if I have an opening!
I’m usually with clients back-to-back, and by the time I see your message at 8 or 9 PM, someone who booked online may have already snagged that appointment!
ONLINE BOOKING IS ALWAYS YOUR BEST BET! 🏆
It also helps us make sure your membership credits, packages, and booking features are working correctly.
Remember, we can’t fix what we don’t know is broken! 🔧
⚠️ ONE LITTLE OCTOBER DISCLAIMER!
I’m still pretty slammed with medical appointments and treatments for my daughter.
And unfortunately, Mayo Clinic isn’t exactly a convenient 26-minute drive across town. 🚗
BUT…
GUESS WHO’S GOING TO BE WORKING A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYWHERE?! 🙋♀️
A random Friday here, some extra hours there, maybe a day you normally wouldn’t expect to see me!
I’m finally able to make my schedule work around my life instead of trying to make my entire life work around my schedule.
And that feels pretty darn good. ❤️
NOW GO SEE WHAT’S OPEN! 👀📲
And if you don’t see what you want today, check again tomorrow!
You never know where Bird might pop up next! 🗺️✨

This has been a long-standing policy at Sedona’s Day Spa, but with the upcoming cold and flu season, I need to remind everyone why it is so important.
Unfortunately, history has repeated itself, and I recently made the poor choice of allowing a client to come in when they were not feeling their best. I should have declined the appointment. That was a mistake on my end and a very clear reminder of exactly why this policy has to remain firmly in place.
I completely understand that we cannot control when we get sick. However, business is business, and I have a responsibility to protect my family, my staff, my clients, and the vulnerable people we may come into contact with outside of the spa.
My daughter is my biggest priority in life. We regularly travel to Mayo Clinic for her medical care. If I am sick, I cannot safely get her to her appointments. When I walk into Mayo while actively sick, I am also potentially exposing people who may already be medically vulnerable.
This extends beyond my own family. I am close with a little boy currently battling stage 4, group 4 cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. An illness that may be minor for one person can become extremely serious for someone whose immune system is compromised. I could never accept knowing that I unknowingly exposed him, another vulnerable person, or especially my own daughter, to an illness because I chose to make an exception for a massage appointment.
So I need everyone to please take this policy seriously.
If you think you may be sick, please do not come in.
If you arrive showing signs of illness or I reasonably suspect you are sick, I will decline your appointment. Please do not put me in the position of having to make that decision once you are already here.
Unfortunately, I am now experiencing symptoms of something beyond a typical common cold and will need to take additional time away from the spa. I cannot risk exposing our other staff members or the clients scheduled with them. More importantly, I cannot continue putting myself in situations where becoming sick affects my ability to care for my daughter and safely take her to her medical appointments.
I understand that being sick isn’t anyone’s fault. I understand that rescheduling is inconvenient, and I know people look forward to their appointments. But there is simply no massage appointment worth risking someone else’s health.
Going forward, I will not make exceptions to this policy. If you are sick, stay home, take care of yourself, and we will see you when you are feeling better.
🚨 NEW POLICY EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY 🚨
Hi all, 👋🏼 this is Bird here.
Please do not show up to your appointment if you are sick. I understand sickness can happen suddenly, and it is hard to give a 24-hour notice to cancel. Unfortunately, sickness is out of all of our control.
It is my job to keep all my clients and staff safe and well. These past two weeks, I made the terrible decision to take phone calls from clients last-minute canceling due to illness. After advising them that the 24-hour cancellation policy would be implemented, I allowed them to retract their cancellations in an attempt to help them avoid losing out on money.
This resulted in me catching a severe case of Influenza B, resulting in the cancellation of multiple full days of clients and risking the health of myself, my family, all my other clients who visited when I was unknowingly contagious, my staff, and other guests in the 1804 location.
Some policies must go into immediate effect after hard lessons are learned. This is one of those lessons.
EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 26, 2024, it is at the staff’s discretion to cancel your appointment. If you show up and, in our best judgment, you are showing signs of sickness that could affect our health, we must cancel your appointment, charge the 24-hour cancellation fee, and end your appointment.
My health cannot be put at risk again to put my clients’ monetary funds first. As much as I try my best to always think of my clients, this was a mistake I take accountability for, and I am implementing precautions to ensure health and wellness come first.
You won’t enjoy your massage sick, and we cannot deliver our best when we are sick.
Thanks for understanding.

How hygienic is a float tank when multiple people float in the same water?
It’s a fair question, and there’s a lot happening behind the scenes to keep our tanks clean, sanitized and properly maintained.
After every single client, our float tanks are cleaned and sanitized, and the water goes through our filtration and sanitation process before the next float.
We also test and monitor pH and alkalinity every day. In simple terms, these tests help us monitor the water chemistry and make sure the water is being properly maintained.
Our tanks contain an extremely high concentration of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate). That means there is a LOT of salt dissolved into a relatively small amount of water. It’s what allows your body to float so effortlessly, but it also creates a very different environment from ordinary bath or pool water.
So what does all that salt do when it comes to germs?
This has actually been studied.
Laboratory testing conducted through NSF International, an independent organization that tests products and systems for public health and safety, looked at what happened when specific bacteria were placed into highly concentrated Epsom-salt water.
Researchers tested bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a common bacteria that can live in water and is one of the organisms sanitation systems are designed to control.
They also tested Enterococcus faecium, another type of bacteria commonly found in the intestinal tract.
The researchers compared what happened to the bacteria in concentrated Epsom-salt water versus regular water.
The results showed that the highly concentrated Epsom-salt environment was very unfriendly to Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The amount of that bacteria dropped dramatically over 24 hours in the Epsom-salt solution, while it actually increased in the regular-water comparison.
However, the other bacteria tested was much more resistant to the salty environment.
Why is that important?
Because it shows us two things:
First, the massive amount of Epsom salt in a float tank can make the water a difficult environment for certain microorganisms, or tiny living things such as bacteria, to survive and multiply.
Second, Epsom salt does NOT replace proper sanitation.
And that’s why we never rely on salt alone.
Filtration, sanitation, water testing, tank cleaning and ongoing maintenance all work together.
We also clean and sanitize the surrounding areas and high-touch surfaces throughout the float room.
Some of the specific products and techniques we’ve developed over the years remain part of our private operating procedures for brand protection, but we’re always happy to explain the overall process that keeps our tanks maintained.
Between every client:
• Tank cleaned and sanitized
• Water filtered and sanitized
• Surrounding areas cleaned
Every day:
• pH tested
• Alkalinity tested
• Water chemistry monitored
• Equipment and water conditions checked
So yes, multiple people use our float tanks throughout the day, but nobody simply gets into the water exactly as the previous client left it.
There is an entire hygiene and water-maintenance process happening between those appointments so you can get in, float and relax.
The science: The magnesium-sulfate testing was conducted through NSF International. Research published in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Eurosurveillance has also discussed microbial growth and sanitation in highly concentrated float-tank water.
Cleanliness isn’t the glamorous part of floating, but it’s one of the most important parts of what we do behind the scenes.

EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 2, 2026
CLIENT BOOKING, INTAKE & CHECK-IN POLICY
To help appointments begin on time, reduce scheduling errors, and provide a smoother experience, we are updating our booking and check-in procedures.
ONLINE ACCOUNT REQUIRED
All clients must have their own online client account before an appointment can be scheduled.
Staff will no longer manually book clients who have not created an account in our system.
INTAKE FORM REQUIRED
All clients must have a completed intake form prior to their appointment start time.
If your intake form has not been completed when you arrive, you will be asked to complete it before your service begins. The time needed to complete your intake form will be included as part of your scheduled appointment time and will not extend your appointment.
UPON ARRIVAL
When you arrive for your appointment, you will be asked to check in through our system, or a staff member will manually check you in.
Checking in lets your service provider know you have arrived and helps us keep appointments running on schedule.
ONLINE BOOKING IS NOW OUR PRIMARY BOOKING METHOD
We have full confidence in our online booking system and are encouraging all clients to utilize it moving forward.
Effective October 2, we will begin stepping away from accepting appointment requests through phone calls, text messages, email, Facebook, Facebook Messenger, social media messages, or other similar forms of communication.
These communication methods should not be considered a confirmed appointment unless you have received an official booking confirmation through our scheduling system.
We strongly encourage you to prebook your next session before leaving the spa. If you choose not to prebook, we will ask that you schedule your next appointment using:
Our online booking system
or
Sunni, our virtual AI booking assistant
Both options provide access to our current availability and allow you to schedule without waiting for a staff response.
These changes allow our team to spend less time managing scheduling messages across multiple platforms and more time focused on the clients in front of us.
Thank you for helping us keep booking simple, accurate, and efficient.

🏜️☀️ The face behind the name 🌵🦎
Meet Presley, our Spa Experience & Digital Media Assistant! 🌞
So, what exactly does that mean?
Presley is behind all the new fun you’re starting to see on our social media, including games, giveaways, contests, and keeping things a little more interesting around here. 🌵✨
She’s also the face behind the phone. 📱 When you win a giveaway and need a credit applied to your account, have a question, or need a little assistance, there’s a good chance Presley is behind the scenes helping.
And when it comes to scheduling, we spent the big bucks on online booking, so we’re determined to make it earn its keep. 😂💰 No phone tag, no “what about Tuesday?” followed by six more texts. You can see our availability, compare it with yours, and book the time that works for you. And if technology decides to fight back, Sunni, our AI assistant, is there to help. ☀️🦎
But her biggest job is the spa experience. 🌵
The float tanks being ready. 💧 The scent and aroma when you walk through the door. Earplugs never being forgotten before your float. Even that cute little bathroom spray tucked behind the toilet. 😂 If it’s one of those tiny details that makes you think, “They thought of everything,” Presley probably had something to do with it.
Most importantly, Presley takes the tedious behind-the-scenes tasks off our service providers so they can do exactly what you came here for: focus completely on you and your private spa session. 🏜️☀️
This post is a little late 🤏- but, better late, than never. 🕰️
Welcome to the team, Presley! 🌵🦎🌞🤎
