Outside of the salon I have a lot of people ask me, “What’s your guide to picking the best fruit?” So here are my go-to tips for bringing home the sweetest, juiciest picks every time! ✨🛒

✨Watermelon✨
🍉 Look for a creamy yellow field spot—not white! That means it had plenty of time to ripen on the vine.
🍉 Pick one that feels heavy for its size. The heavier it is, the juicier it usually is!
🍉 A dull, matte rind is a great sign. Super shiny watermelons often need more time to ripen.

✨Pineapple✨
🍍 Give one of the center leaves a gentle tug—it should pull out easily. 🌿
🍍 Smell the bottom! A sweet, tropical aroma is exactly what you’re looking for.
🍍 Choose one that feels heavy for its size with healthy green leaves.

✨Cantaloupe (Athena Melon)✨
🍈 Look for a beautiful golden-beige color with raised netting covering the melon.
🍈 Smell the stem end—it should have a sweet, fruity aroma.
🍈 It should feel heavy and have just a slight give on the blossom end.

One year ago today, I became a licensed cosmetologist. 🤎

Walking out of school, I was nervous about how the beauty industry would receive me as a woman of color who embraces and celebrates every part of natural beauty. Looking back now, I’m so thankful I didn’t let that fear stop me.

The education, support, and encouragement I’ve received over this past year have shaped not only my skills, but also my confidence as a stylist.

To every guest who has trusted me with your hair—thank you. It means more than you’ll ever know. I truly look forward to every appointment and love seeing your names pop up on my books. Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your lives and for trusting me with your confidence.
