I’m never going to tell you to break up with your blow dryer, curling iron or flat iron 😂 — but we do need to have a few rules.

✨ Heat protectant. Every. Single. Time.
Yes, when you blow dry AND when you use a hot tool.

✨ 350° is plenty for most hair.
Unless your hair texture truly requires more, there’s usually no reason to crank that tool all the way up. Hotter doesn’t always mean better!

✨ Protect each section as you style.
No hot tool should touch your hair without heat protection. Your ends will thank you. 👏

Here’s why I’m such a stickler about it…

Less heat damage = more hair preserved. And the more healthy hair we can keep on your head, the easier it is for us to reach those long term color, length and extension goals.

✨ I-TIP EXTENSIONS: THE PROS + CONS ✨

Thinking about extensions but not sure which method is right for you? Let’s talk I-Tips:

I-Tips are installed strand by strand using tiny beads; no heat, glue, or adhesive during installation. They can create beautiful length, fullness and movement, but like every extension method, they aren’t the perfect fit for everyone.

THE PROS
✨ No heat or adhesive used to attach them
✨ Individual strand movement for a natural feel
✨ Reusable hair, the extensions can be moved up and reinstalled when properly cared for
✨ Customizable placement makes it easy to add fullness exactly where it’s needed
✨ Great for adding length, density or both
✨ Easy access to the scalp compared with some other methods
✨ Can blend beautifully into many different hair textures

THE CONS 🖤
✖️ Regular maintenance is a must they need to be moved up as your natural hair grows
✖️ Installation and maintenance can take longer because each extension is individually placed
✖️ The beads may be noticeable if you have very fine or low density hair
✖️ Improper brushing, tension or at-home care can lead to tangling or stress on the natural hair
✖️ Not every hair type or lifestyle is a good candidate

The biggest thing to remember? There is no “best” extension method, there’s a best method for YOUR hair.

Your natural density, texture, lifestyle, desired result and ability to maintain your extensions all matter when choosing between I-Tips, K-Tips and Wefts.
