Cryotherapy Queen
Cryotherapy is a passion of mine. I do daily whole body cryotherapy and read everything related to
A couple days behind, but they’ve been busy ones!
Let’s catch up on numbers!
Day 13 (I think?):
Weight: 206.8 (-4 lbs)
Sleep: sleep number says 69, but I feel rested!
Mood: productive
I know 4 lbs in nearly 2 weeks doesn’t seem very impressive…but…I’ve changed nothing else. Still eating and snacking, still drinking sugary sodas & teas. In the future I may start reducing very slowly, but I almost want to avoid major diet changes in order to have ONLY cryotherapy be the change factor.
I’m certain I could lose much more/much faster with some dietary changes, but then it blurs the line between what is attributed to Cryo and what’s dietary. My goal is to stick to what the average person would be willing to do.
(In all fairness, I consume a stupid amount of soda daily. Cutting that even by half would still probably be more than most people drink.)

Let’s Go, Panthers!
I’ll be at tonight’s Stanley Cup playoff game, cheering on my team!
Doesn’t it figure that I would be a fan of a sport involving ice???
I just hopped out of Cryo, trying the Cryosense machine today. It’s definitely a different experience! First, there’s a heat cycle that warms you up (not my favorite thing, but probably worth it). Then the chill begins. The unit registered -306 degrees (calling bu****it on that) and I am pretty impressed with the delivery. Rather than strong blasts of cold air, it feels like it is gently dispersed around you. A good chill and a very easy delivery.
I’ll be experimenting with different levels, from mild to extreme, but I think newcomers/lightweights would do best in this unit - and I’m hoping to find a strong setting that is just right for me!
Day 9:
Weight 209 ( -1.8 lbs down)
Sleep: 75 (blame a snoring bed partner)
Mood: Excited!
Tuesday turned the corner!
Still didn’t get enough sleep, but let’s be honest - that’s not cryotherapy’s fault. My hockey team is slaying in the Stanley Cup semifinals and 8 pm games are just cruel & painful for us “mature” folk. By game end, near 11, your adrenaline is at a fever pitch and sleep isn’t an option…especially if you are driven to remind everyone you know of how the game went…
A midafternoon headache threatened to sideline my day, but the briefest of lunchtime power naps set me right.
My work place was sunny, focused and cheery today, with lots of smiles. Just the way I like it.
End of day Cryo was the perfect boost to a genuinely good day overall.
Day 6:
Weight: 209.2 (-1.6 lbs down, & holding)
Sleep: 69 (blame hockey)
Mood: positive, upbeat & happy, energized

It was the Monday-est of Mondays…one I’m glad to be done with. People and problems seemed particularly complicated today.
Still, I managed a pretty neat trick in not reacting to it. Trust that’s not typically my default setting. Being less ‘reactive’ has been a longstanding skill in progress…particularly if I feel unfairly judged or wronged. Those are my Achilles heels.
I’m working on better boundaries. Not unnecessarily apologizing for them or over-explaining, but letting silly things go.
The shiny spot in my day was a dip in the scale. Down 1.6 lbs with no effort outside of cryotherapy. It’s too small to be definitive, but it was a sweet boost that made up for some challenges.
Lastly, I got to Cryo today - and, honestly, I could’ve shed happy tears in relief for it. Bless the sweet friend who made it happen. You saved the day from ending on a sour note.
Day 5:
Weight: 209.2 (- 1.6 lbs)
Sleep #: 67 (ugh, my own fault!)
Mood: It wasn’t a great day…but tomorrow’s another day!
Happy Sunday!
The scale bounced a tad today, but I’m not fretting over it. It’s definitely a water retention thing and not weight.
I have noticed I’m not quite as hungry this weekend. Just comfortable.
No Cryo on Sundays, but I’m really looking forward to it this week!
Not too much else to report! Just ready for the week ahead!
Day 4:
Weight: 209.6(- 1.2 lbs)
Sleep #: 81 (good!)
Mood: Feeling pretty good!

Didn’t get to Cryo today (sad face!), so I guess Monday will have to do!
Stayed up late binging on TV and Chinese food and have zero regrets!
My hockey team won tonight and I’m really starting to believe the Stanley Cup is in reach!
Day 3:
Weight: 209.4 (- 1.4 lbs, no change)
Sleep #: 78 (not bad!)
Mood: tired, but mostly happy! There’s stress & drama around me, but I’m staying focused and removed from it.
My Friday was all about recovery today and I didn’t get to do cryotherapy (but I’m hoping to make up for it tomorrow, if the stars align!)
I’m a diehard hockey fan, and if you’re not- just know that in the Stanley Cup playoffs last night, my team went into 4 overtime’s and the 8 pm game lasted 6+ hours. Sleep wasn’t in my cards.
I know weighing daily is a no-no for dieters, but I’m charting ups and downs, so we’re playing by different rules. I’ll be expecting to see the scale bounce plenty with water weight, late meals and poor choices.
Still, today’s a good day.
Day 2:
Weight: 209.4 (- 1.4 lbs)
Sleep #: 69
Mood: tired, but good. Feeling strong. Doing the best I can at all I can.

It’s been a minute, hasn’t it?
Covid, grief and some personal drama pretty much ran amok on my life and lots has changed. I think I found the bottom of sorrow & anger and I’ve been working on that rebound.
In the chaos over the years, I found every last one of those lost pounds, but also found more strength and I can honestly say I’m ready for a comeback.
One of my major life changes is that I took a job at the same office where I transformed once upon a time. This fulfills two core needs: I’m genuinely wildly happy with the work I do and where I do it (working with people I just love) and …I have access to daily whole body cryotherapy again.
We’ve been working to get Cryo rebuilt and running again, and I’ve been more than happy to test the machines and settings daily for the past week. Some days not cold enough and others, just right.
Since my last Cinderella makeover, I’ve hit 50 and recovered from 18 months of long Covid…so, here’s hoping my body cooperates again!
I’ve done whole body cryotherapy Tuesday, Wednesday and today (Thursday) and even with off-and-on temperatures, I’m immediately noticing a small burst of energy and better sleep (Sleep Number posted for documentation).
I braved the scale for the first time today, so we’ll start with that number: 210.8 lbs. (yikes).
I am not currently dieting or exercising.
We’ll start charting from today and see where we go!
Day: Thursday, May 18, 2023
Sleep: improving
Weight: 210.8
Mood: upbeat, despite crushing stressors
Stay tuned…

Even hair care is jumping on the cryotherapy train!
Pro tip: visit your local cryotherapy spot for localized Cryo on the scalp.
Do over...
I’m still not able to do daily cryotherapy (limited access!) but I’m trying to get back on the wagon and reclaim my crown.
Here we go again!
Quarantine has not been kind.
Lack of cryotherapy has not been kind.
Entertaining myself by cooking & baking has not been wise.
Let’s do it allllll overrrrrrr again....
New Cryo goals.
Day 1.
It’s on.
I miss cryotherapy
