New Client Opportunity

This year felt like a chapter I didn’t even know I had been waiting for.
Painted Knots Studio turned 3.
I’m soon to be turning another year closer to 30.
And I said “yes” to forever.

Somewhere in the middle of all the chaos, appointments, and everyday life, I was reminded that I’m still just a girl figuring things out … learning, loving, getting it wrong, trying again.

Life has a funny way of working out right on time. The right opportunities, the right people, the right moments… they show up when you’re ready, even if you don’t realize you are.

Thank you for being part of my world — not just the stylist version of me, but the human one too. 🫶🏼

Real life scenario of my client wanting to go blonde and then decided she actually would rather be dark!

Personally I love both on her 🤍

Lately I’ve been keeping more of my personal life tucked a little closer to my heart.
Not because I don’t want to share, but because some moments feel too intimate and meaningful for the big, public spaces.

I’ll save the longer story of our journey for another time… but anyone who’s been around since the beginning knows he’s been a keeper from day one.

Somewhere along the way, we found our faith again — together.
Here’s to forever 🤍🥂

There’s a moment in an appointment when I can feel a client fully exhale — that shift from “explaining” to “she already gets me.”

It’s not that she’s hands-off, it’s that she trusts I understand her hair, her lifestyle, and what will actually work for her without her having to over-explain every detail.

We still make intentional decisions together, but she doesn’t have to carry the mental load alone.

That quiet trust is what I care about most — beyond the hair.

A little color truth that might surprise you:

The best-looking, healthiest highlights aren’t always the brightest ones — they’re the ones that stay within 2–3 levels of your natural shade.

When there’s less contrast between your base and your highlights, the result is softer, more dimensional, and beautifully effortless — almost like it happened naturally in the sun.

That said, going brighter absolutely has its place — with intentional placement, it can still grow out seamlessly and look beautiful.
This approach is for those who prefer something more natural, subtle, and low-maintenance 🤍

Brighter, but still soft ☀️

For this session, our goal was a gentle refresh — something that felt a little lighter but still natural and lived-in. ✨

We started by chatting through what “bright” actually means for her hair and lifestyle (because it looks different for everyone).

A few painted pieces, some light around the face, and a soft glaze later — we landed on that perfect vanilla blonde that’ll grow out seamlessly.

Proof that a refresh doesn’t always mean a big change — just thoughtful color that feels like you. 🤍

Creamy Beige Blonde 🤍
One of my all-time favorite tones — it’s having a moment, but it’s also one of those shades that never really goes out of style.

✨ Why I love it:
Creamy beige strikes the perfect balance between cool and warm — giving a soft, dimensional blonde that grows out beautifully. It’s considered a low-maintenance highlight, which means less frequent color appointments without sacrificing brightness.

✨ Who it’s for:
This shade was made for my natural “dirty blondes” — those who were light as kids and now sit in that cooler or neutral tone range. If you have crystal or deep blue eyes, this tone tends to make them pop even more.

✨ Maintenance tips:
To keep that creamy tone from turning brassy, I recommend a glaze every 6–8 weeks (which conveniently lines up with trim timing!). Regular toning keeps your blonde reflective and refined, not dull or flat.

Claire’s been a “brighter the better” kind of blonde for a while, but recently she’s been loving a softer, more lived-in look.

We brought back some of her natural tone for depth while keeping the lightness through her mids, ends, and face frame.

Low-maintenance, high-impact — my favorite combo 🤍

✨ 3 Things Your Stylist Should Ask Before Highlights ✨

Your hair history 📲
Past colors, treatments, and what you’ve loved (or not loved!) help me avoid repeating what haven’t liked in the past and build on what works.

Your maintenance goals 🗓️
Do you want a low-maintenance grow-out or a brighter look that needs touch-ups? Knowing this helps me strike the right balance for your lifestyle.

Your vision + lifestyle 💭
Whether it’s caramel tones, bright blonde, or a seamless blend, we’ll look at photos together and consider how your daily habits (like heat styling) impact keeping your color vibrant and your hair healthy.

💡 Asking the right questions = hair color that looks gorgeous and works for your life.
