Let’s get into the breakdown of this color correction ➡️➡️➡️
My client came in and was honest about her hair history, saying she had black box dye in it wanting to transition back into her natural blonde color. Black hair color is already a complicated color to lift, but with the box dye it has specific ingredients in it that stain the hair cuticle.
With this information and knowing she wanted an overall lighter look, I went in with the platinum card technique with 30vol and blonde elevation powder. Enough to lift it without compromising it. After it was done processing I wiped the excess lightner off and went back in again with another lightner application process. Removing the lightner and reapplying will give it that extra push to bump the base more, all while I’m applying the lightner to the root as well. So the root can now process the same time as her midstrands and ends.
After all the lightening is done, and she lifted to about a level 7 (she came in as a level 1) I went in with 2 different glazes using shades eq, one to neutralize the unwanted tones, and another as a Demi permanent base coverage. I wanted to do the base coverage with a Demi so when we went in with our next blonding service it won’t be too complicated to lift the color.
This was our awesome final result! So happy with how our first session went

5 hours later….
Yes this took 5 hours to achieve. My client came in with her hair starting as a level 4, dark brown. During our consultation she said she wanted to be as blonde as she can be, even at her her scalp/root area. She mentioned as well that she has VIRGIN hair. Virgin hair means, she’s never had color put on her hair professionally or box.
I did a paltnium card technique on her using blonde elevation, a purple lightner. I felt this lightner was best because it was kicking the yellow lift as she was processing. How awesome am I right?!
The platinum card technique is simply, Putting all hair stands in foils and hitting the base, as the last step. The foils hold in the heat and allow the hair to process far much longer than it could if it were left out. With my knowledge of her hair history and what she wanted, I felt like this technique was the best because I knew I would get the maximum lift possible and she would be a global blonde. After the hair lifted to what It could handle in this session, I rinsed her and applied 8.22 baco color glaze to neutralize her hair to one even global color.
Yes my client came in as a level 4 dark brown, but she left at a level 8-9 honey golden blonde. So happy with this outcome! These long services are always the most rewarding. seeing the transformation unfold in your hands leading to a happy and confident client!

My client asked to just be blonde again but no warmth involved, but also not icy. A nice in between as a champagne 🥂
