I have not seen this client in over a year!!

She started a new job and unfortunately worked the same exact schedule as me. So she had to find a new salon home. 😔

She thought going to an "expensive name brand" salon would guarantee her good results... but, she was not impressed. She felt like she got way too light with highlighting and her hair just wasn't healthy anymore.

When I saw she made an appointment I was so dang excited!! I'm always humbled when a client decides to return to my business, no matter how much time had passed. (So no one feel weird about reaching out if you want to!!)

When we met for our appointment she told me all the things she wasn't loving.
-her natural just felt to ashy and drab
-the grey
-not wanting to go too light with highlights because she feels washed out
-she felt the health of her hair could use some improvement as well.

I formed a plan. Here's what we decided to do
-a demi permanent on her roots to blend her greys and impart some warmth into her base. This gives her hair depth but doesn't create a harsh line as it grows out.
-a mini highlight (just 8 foils mind you!) To create some brightness around her hairline as she likes to wear her hair up . And a few highlights to break up the top. We decided on a mini to give her hair a break from over highlighting. I told her we can always add more highlights in the future!
-a nice healthy haircut to give movement and even everything up.

She left a very happy guest. I think the word magician was used. 🤣🤣 I'm just so happy to give people hair they love, because it truly brings me joy. I'm so thankful to love what I do!

Hey there! It's been a minute since I've posted my face on here!

I'm still alive so don't worry! Sometimes ya just need a social media breaky break.

I'm still over here, working away in my studio in good ole downtown Wheaton... going on 6 years this summer. (Holy crap!) I'm always trying to improve my craft, whether it be perfecting my extension installs or learning new coloring techniques I'm curious about.

I still love what I do and am so thankful to have a career that is active, fun, but also rewarding and is constantly bringing new people into my life!!

Dimensional highlights, extensions, grey blending, and fun conversations are all still my jam so if that's what you are craving, I'm here for you!

Ever wonder what a fresh install looks like up close up? What about the grow out? Well here you go! On the left is a picture of a 7 week grow out and on the right is a fresh new install.

On the left you see a healthy grow out. That means no scalp irritations, and the grow out is pretty even! She does a great job of maintaining her extensions in between move ups, and it definitely shows. This hair is also about 5 months old now, and still going strong!

Totally understandable! There are many reasons why you would want to take an extension break!

Going on vacation..

Wanting to save some money..

Wanting to be able to really scrub your scalp without having to worry about where your extensions are...

But... what usually ends up happening is my guest comes back in SO looking forward to having their extensions again.

That's what happened with this beauty.

She was going to Florida for a month, but also due for new hair...

She wanted to be able to enjoy the ocean and pool without any precautions, so we decided to remove her extension hair for the time.

Well let me tell you.

She missed that hair.

I know it sounds silly, but it makes a huge difference!

There is something about longer, fuller, healthier hair than just makes your confidence soar!

I don't think she'll be taking another break from her extensions any time soon. ❤

We all know extensions are expensive so let's break down the cost so you have an idea of about how much you pay per day to maintain your extensions!

Now this math is for someone that is going to be getting one row for fullness and just a little bit of length because that's the majority of what my guests get! Everyone's price will differ but this is what an average one row client would pay.

So the initial install includes the price of the hair and blending of the extension hair. If you average 7 weeks for your move up (some clients can go longer which means more savings!) that will cost you about $11.43 a day.

After that for just maintenance to move up your extensions (again assuming you go 7 weeks in between move ups.) that's about $4.08 a day.

When broken down, it is a lot easier to determine if extensions could work into your life. Maintaining your extensions after the intial cost is less than most people spend on coffee each day.

And the great thing is if you take great care of your extension hair, you can keep it for up to a year!
