I’m incredibly grateful for every person who has trusted me with their hair over the years. Your support has allowed me to build the career I once dreamed about, and I don’t take that for granted.

Over the past few years, demand for my chair - especially for Hairskeen - has grown far beyond anything I ever expected. As that side of my business has continued to grow, so has the time each guest requires. In order to continue delivering the level of customized service, quality and attention every client deserves, I’ve made the decision to pause accepting all new clients for now.

Some people build a business. I had the privilege of building a dream with my parents right beside me.

From the very beginning, they were there when I had the crazy idea to go look at a commercial salon listing on a whim that was for sale. They helped me weigh the pros and cons, asked the hard questions, and never just blindly told me yes. But they also saw something in me. They saw the dream, the vision, and the possibility and potential. They became a sounding board for every idea and gave me the encouragement to believe this could actually work.

Since then, they have been there every step of the way. Helping build out the salon, refreshing and renewing the space inside and out, and pouring so much love and hard work into creating a place we are all proud to walk into every day.

They have climbed ladders, fixed problems, shown up when something breaks, and somehow always seem to come to the rescue right when we need them most with smiles and encouragement. But beyond all of that, they have also been a listening ear, a steady support, and a reminder to keep going on the hard days.

They are my parents, my cheerleaders, and my champions. And the truth is, Matthew Robert Salon would not be what it is today without them.

What means even more is that their support has never just been for me. They have shown that same care, generosity, and encouragement to our entire team, and that has helped shape the heart of this place just as much as the walls and the work itself.

I will never be able to fully put into words how grateful I am, but I hope they feel it every time they walk through these doors.
