Happy 6 years to Matthew Robert Salon. 🥂

Six years ago, I opened the doors to Matthew Robert Salon.

At the time, I knew I wanted to create something that felt different - a space where people could come as they are, feel taken care of, feel safe, and leave feeling a little more like themselves.

What I don’t think I fully understood then was everything this place would become.

It has grown, changed addresses, survived some wild years, welcomed incredible people, went through renovations, and eventually became a building I’m lucky enough to call ours. But more than any of that, it became a community.

I get to work alongside talented, independent beauty professionals who have built businesses of their own inside these walls. I get to take care of clients who have trusted me for years - some for decades. And I get to walk into a place every day that once existed only as an idea in my head.

There have been long days, scary decisions, risks, lessons, stress, laughter, growth, and plenty of moments where I’ve thought, how is this my life?

To every client who has sat in one of our chairs, every person who has supported this business, every stylist who has called Matthew Robert Salon home, and especially my family and the people who have helped me build this along the way — thank you.

I don’t take any of it for granted.

Six years later, I’m still creating. Still learning. Still dreaming bigger.

I’m incredibly grateful for every person who has trusted me with their hair over the years. Your support has allowed me to build the career I once dreamed about, and I don’t take that for granted.

Over the past few years, demand for my chair - especially for Hairskeen - has grown far beyond anything I ever expected. As that side of my business has continued to grow, so has the time each guest requires. In order to continue delivering the level of customized service, quality and attention every client deserves, I’ve made the decision to pause accepting all new clients for now.
