A little reintroduction of the girl behind the gloves 💅🏼🤍

Hi, I’m Karley! I went into full-phase beauty school thinking I’d do a little bit of everything, inspired largely by my nail tech growing up. I loved watching her run her own business while still being completely herself. Turns out, hair definitely wasn’t for me 😂 and nails were where I belonged.

My journey hasn’t been totally straightforward. An allergy pushed me away from acrylic and eventually toward Gel-X & HEMA-free products, and a pretty scary career change led me to becoming independent. Now I’m lucky enough to work alongside Justyne, who I’ve known since I was a kid and is genuinely the most supportive salon owner I could ask for. 🤍

My favorite part of this job is that every client is different. I’ve done hundreds of sets and somehow still haven’t recreated the exact same one twice. My nail art has also come a LONG way from where it started… because trust me, it was rough. 😂

But if we’re being real, the conversations might be my favorite part. There is no such thing as TMI in my chair. 😂 Tell me the relationship tea, family drama, work gossip or just vent about life. There’s zero judgment here, and chances are I’ll be talking just as much as you are.

This career is especially meaningful to me because I’ve lived with a heart condition my entire life. Growing up, I wasn’t sure being fully self-sufficient and having a career would be possible for me. Somehow I’ve built one that I genuinely love and that works with my life instead of against it — something I’ll never take for granted.

Outside of nails, I’m happiest with my family & animals, doing some kind of craft or DIY, or out on the water paddleboarding or kayaking. I’m also currently planning my wedding to Chase, who has been my biggest supporter through this entire journey. 🤍

So whether you’ve been in my chair for years or you’re new here — hi, I’m Karley! I’m glad you’re here. 🫶🏼💅🏼

✨ Two years. 💙

Today marks 2 years since I joined Urban Wax & Beauty Lounge, and I honestly can’t believe how quickly it’s gone.

These last two years have helped me grow so much—not only as a nail tech, but as a person and business owner. I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many amazing clients, many of whom have become friends along the way.

A huge thank you to Justyne for believing in me, encouraging me, and creating such an amazing salon to be a part of. Your support, guidance, and friendship have meant so much over these last two years, and I’m incredibly grateful for everything you’ve done for me.

And to every single one of my clients—thank you for trusting me with your nails, recommending me to your friends and family, sharing my work, and supporting this little dream of mine. I truly wouldn’t be here without all of you.
