Peak seasonal eating is officially here! šš„¬
For those of us in the northern half of the country, we are right in the sweet spot for eating local, seasonal food. From a biological standpoint, this is exactly how our bodies evolved to thrive!
Itās easy to forget that the ability to eat whatever we want, whenever we want, is a brand-new phenomenon. Mass refrigeration and global shipping have only been around for a historical blink of an eye. I might be giving away my age here, but I still remember when strawberries were strictly a late-spring luxuryāand how incredible that very first bite of the season tasted!
Why choose local?
1ļøā£ Maximum Nutrients: Produce picked at peak ripeness has time to develop its full profile of vitamins and phytonutrients.
2ļøā£ Ultimate Freshness: Nutrients start to degrade the moment a crop is harvested. The shorter the trip from farm to table, the healthier it is for you!
š± No backyard garden? No problem! Hit up your local farmers' market or look into a local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture).
š¢ What's coming up: I don't have any open group cohorts running at this exact moment, but if you want to gather a few friends or family members to run through one of my signature programsālike the Wellness Reset, Smart Slimdown, 5-Day Vegan, or Immune Boostāreach out! We can set up a custom schedule, and I will tailor all the recipes to focus on the gorgeous, nutrient-dense seasonal produce available right now.
š Drop a comment below: What is your absolute favorite local summer produce?

Today is National Sunscreen Day⦠who even knew that was a thing? āļø
But itās actually a great reminder heading into summer.
I recently heard that tanning bed use is increasing again among young people, likely influenced in part by social media tanning trends. Unfortunately, tanning beds dramatically increase the risk of skin cancer.
If you want that summer glow without damaging your skin, try tinted makeup or a tinted sunscreen instead.
And remember ā not all sunscreens are created equal.
Look for mineral-based sunscreens with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. These ingredients sit on top of the skin, reflect UV rays, and are generally considered safer for both our bodies and the environment.
Need product suggestions? Feel free to DM me.
Also: hats and sunglasses still matter. š
What about Vitamin D? During the summer, many people can get enough from just 5ā15 minutes of midday sun exposure, depending on skin tone, weather, and location.
Protect your skin now ā your future self will thank you!

Did anyone else see the Pete Wells article in todayās New York Times? š°
Itās titled "Is Loving Food the Secret to Eating Less of It?" and it is such a breath of fresh air! He talks about how moving away from self-denial and toward true enjoyment helped him reclaim his health.
Iāve always believed that health shouldnāt feel like a chore or a battle. Thatās why my Wellness Reset program isn't a "diet"āitās a foundation for a better life. We focus on the big five: Sleep, Nutrition, Stress, Movement, and Self-Care.
I have exciting news: I am now offering the Wellness Reset as a private experience. If youāve wanted to do the program but couldn't fit the group sessions into your calendar, this is for you. Weāll work one-on-one at a mutually convenient time to tailor the Reset specifically to your needs.

We all know candy isnāt great for us because of the sugarā¦
But a recent study by Healthy Florida First found that many popular candy brands may also contain elevated levels of arsenic.
And hereās something else to be aware of: chocolateāespecially dark chocolateācan contain lead and cadmium. Not because theyāre added, but because cacao plants naturally absorb these metals from the soil.
Why does this matter?
Because itās not just about calories or sugar anymore. Sugar can disrupt the balance of your gut, and heavy metals may place added stress on your digestive system and your bodyās natural detox processes.
Definitely gives you pause.
If youāve been thinking about cutting back on sugar but keep finding yourself pulled back in, youāre not alone. Those cravings are realābut they can be managed with the right support.
If youāre ready to get off the sugar train and feel better, reach out. Iād love to help you get started.

The 2026 Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen lists have just been released!
If youāve ever felt unsure about when itās worth buying organic, these lists are a great guide. They rank fruits and vegetables based on pesticide residue, helping you decide where it matters most.
The good news? You donāt have to do it all. Even a few small changes can make a difference.
Iāve included the links to the full lists in my latest newsletterātake a look and see what might work for you!

This morning in my gym class, the trainer announced there are 78 days until summer.
That might sound like pressureābut it can also be seen as a great opportunity.
78 days is enough time to make meaningful changes:
āļø Improve your nutrition
āļø Support your gut
āļø Move your body consistently
āļø Build habits that last
No extremes. No quick fixes. Just steady progress.
If youāve been thinking about getting back on track, now is a great time to start.
