I find myself hesitant to use the phrase "Happy Memorial Day." While I understand the sentiment behind it, for me, this day is a solemn remembrance of those who fought and lost their lives for us all.
I observe this day in their memory with a thankful heart, hoping they have found peace. My deepest condolences go out to the families who have lost loved ones in service.
