Most stylists know that lightener dramatically shifts the pH of the hair, but what happens next is just as important. #saloncentricpartner Any time you push the hair out of its natural acidic state, you need to follow up with treatments that bring it back closer to balance. That’s why I never skip Redken Shades EQ + Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate after color services. Shades EQ acts as an acidic demi-permanent that helps restore the cuticle, while Acidic Bonding Concentrate reinforces strength, moisture, and shine. Together, they don’t just create a pretty finish…they actually help reset the hair closer to its natural status.

Here’s something that might surprise you: in the beginning of this video, you’ll see me put pH drops in NYC tap water, and the results showed a very high pH. Think about that!! every single time your client’s hair touches water, the pH is disrupted. That constant imbalance is one of the biggest reasons color fades faster than we’d like.

This is why I believe every client should leave the salon with at least one product designed to help rebalance their hair’s pH at home. Treatments like Acidic Bonding Concentrate aren’t just an add-on…they’re a necessity if you want the color (and your client’s investment) to last.

Thank you @saloncentric for always having my favorites from @redkenpro!! #ittakesapro #saloncentric #redkencolor #hairstylist #haireducation
